Mboko is under the gun here facing Krejikova, who is slicing everything to gain advantage in rallies.  Mboko has to increase her first serve percentage to have a chance of winning this match.

Mboko is up to the task.  She fought hard to hold on to her serve in this 3rd game.  Down 1-2, in the first set with Krejikova to serve.

This young girl Mboko doesn’t give up easily. I can see that  beating Krejikova maybe a step too far for Mboko at the moment, but once she becomes used to Krejikova’s patterns, and her off speed shots, hopefully she can turn the match around.

Mboko is playing increasingly better against Krejikova now.

Not sure why Kvitova decided to play the USO, because she’s not doing anything on court….lol.   I will miss her awesome play, when it was good.  She has had a great career.

Damn, Vicky gave up her serve to hand Krejikova the first set.  She is still trying to figure things out.  C’mon Vicky!

Well, maybe the mountain is too high today for Mboko, because Krejikova is on her game.  Playing well.

Mboko is shaking out her right wrist, and her 2nd serve has been ineffective as well.  She is making no impact on Krejikova’s serve.

Krejikova is through.  It seems Victoria Mboko needs more Rehab in that wrist.  Anyhow, hopefully she takes time to get her wrist in good shape for next tournament.

Fonseca down a break in this first set.

Keys is all tied up in the first set tiebreak against Zarazua…36 errors in this first set from Keys…😂

Ugly tennis according to that British commentator.  Can’t recall his name, but love his commentary.  Madison finally puts the set away…lol

Jason Goodall…that’s his name…lol
Anyway, Draper is about to serve for the first set at 5-4.  Keys is down in the second set 5-3.

Fonseca has the first set.  Fedex, you will be pleased to read that Kecmanovic had served for the first set, but Fonseca took it a tiebreak.  Same for the second set.

Haven’t watched much of Keys’ match, but why is she struggling in this manner, unless Zarazua is playing with spin and mixing up her shots.

Draper is down a break in the 3rd set.  Game has deserted him.  Fonseca just had a MTO for ?!?

Maddy keys 3rd set with a total of 82 UE.  This is atrocious!  Zarazua was up a break in the 3rd set, and had served for the match at 5-3.  Keys fought back to 5 all in the third set. Maybe Keys wuth the huge strapping on her left thigh is struggling with an injury….or potential injury.

Keys didn’t deserve to win this match.  Zarazua apparently has never beaten a top 20 player, and she beat a top 10 player.🤨

Sek, can you please go and drag Rune off the court.  He’s such a mess with his game now.  He was up 2 breaks in the 3rd set, was a point from 5-0.  He was broken twice for Van de Zandschulp to even the score at 4 all.  Nore it’s 5 all.  I can see that if Rune loses the 3rd set, this match is going 5.

Rune did win the match…..lol.  However, highly doubt if he will go deep into this tournament.
Khachanov lost the first set to Basaverddy?!?  .

Venus vs Muchova coming right up.  Btw, Sloane Stephens seems to be officially at ESPN.  Chris Eubanks also.  Maybe it’s just for the USO.  Field commentators.  Sloane is devoting a lot of her time to her humanitarian work.

Venus is playing really well.  zero expectations.  winning 3 games already is a victory at this point against last year's semifinalist and a woman with a winning h2h vs Sabalenka.  at 45.  with Sjogrens.  with everything.  this is why I have zero respect for anyone else

And Re: Keys, 89 UFEs is diabolical.

At this point just just took the 2nd set.

I don't really agree with the arguments of the nature that so-n-so in their prime would mop up the current era.  Yes, some great players in their prime, would be comparative (and some would dominate) in any era.

With that said, looking at this match sort of gives me the same type of amazement that I had when Big George Foreman return turned to boxing (some 14 years later and 40-60lbs heavier than he was in his prime).

I was surprised that as slow as Foreman was (and as stationary), that he was able to win any bouts at all.

Yes, I'm surprised that this version of Venus is in actually in this match at all. Before hand, I would have wagered that she would not have won more than 2 or 3 games for the match against the 13th ranked, 11th seeded player at the USO.

Andreeva took the first set 6-0.  Didn’t see the first set, but Parks tried to control her DF and ground game to begin the second set.  However, Andreeva broke Parks’ serve and now is leading in the second set.

Keys almost clocked 100 UFEs yesterday, lol. I get the feeling Keys doesn't spend much time in the gym, she is always coming up with an injury.
Now, did anyone see Townsend's outfit? Girl lost a few pounds and decides to change her style. hmm...
I don't like Alcaraz's hair buzz.
