Miss Vee Mboko is going to play on looking at this draw do you think she can string a few wins together?

Bianca, I did see that Mboko had entered Ningbo.  I hope that she can win even her first round, and Rybakina is beatable at the moment.  She did record that win against Rybakina in Montreal, but she was confident then….not so much now.  So I’m hoping that she can get the first win in this tournament.

Anisimova has withdrawn from Ningbo with left calf injury.  Just realized that she wasn’t in the draw.  She has qualified for the YEC anyway, so why not try to heal and recover from everything before Nov 1.
Ningbo will be a pressure cooker for the 3 players trying to qualify.

There is also an event in Japan where Naomi is the top seed.

Sek, that event with Naomi is scheduled to start next week…October 20-27.  This one is at 500 level.  It’s the Toray Pan Pacific open.
There is one event in Japan this week, which is a 250 level tournament. It’s being played in Osaka. It’s the Kinoshita Group Open.  Starts October 13-20.

Miss_Vee, thanks for the info. I didn't realize it was not until next week.

Sekasi you are indeed correct.  I just saw on YouTube that Naomi is scheduled to play in Osaka today.  Oct 13th.  I had not checked this tournament, because I knew she was playing next week in Tokyo.
She is appearing as the top seed at the 250 level tournament.  Sorry….my bad.

Another first round straight sets loss for Vicky Mboko.  At least she made it to a tie break in the second set.

Bianca, another teenager who needs to shut down her season is Mirra Andreeva, who is also in a funk.  She is losing now to players that normally she would trounce.  She is also in the hunt for the WTA finals in Riyadh.  Just read that she lost her match today to a Chinese player.

Naomi Osaka sustained an injury during her 3rd round match in Osaka 2 days ago, and on her birthday October 16th, had to seek diagnosis and treatment at an Emergency in the city.  Today she withdrew from the Japan open, so her opponent Cristian goes through to the semis.
Her appearance at the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo next week,  is now in doubt.

I think that ends her season. Well, good thing for her is she will be seeded for the AO.
She can start preparing for next season.

Sek, I don’t know how your weather has been since September, but we here in southwestern Ontario are enjoying the most fantastic Fall that we have experienced in the last several years. We have only been wearing light coats since last week….lol.  Hopefully it doesn’t snow until late January.

Leylah Fernandez is playing the final in Osaka.  She is matched up against a young kid named Valentova?!?  Not sure that’s the correct spelling.  Hope she is successful today.  Go Leylah!

Rybakina is Champion in Ningbo.  Leylah is Champion in Osaka.  Congrats to them both.
Mboko is continuing this Asian campaign.  She is in the Pan Pacific draw in Tokyo.  Seems Naomi’s season is done.
Mirra Andreeva is not entered in Tokyo, so her season seems to have ended.  She has a chance still to qualify for the YEC in Saudi.  However, she seems to be an emotional mess at the moment, and maybe she needs to end it now.

The Toronto Blue Jays are going to the World Series to face the L.A Dodgers.  Yay!!!  The first time in 32 years.  They were never expected to be here this year.  No one in the baseball world had picked them to reach the World Series this year.

This is a team comprised mainly of Americans and Dominicans….lol!  We are happy to claim them as our own.  Unlike the past, American players are happy to play on this team, because we have such a great history for supporting our sports teams.  Every home game the stadium is packed, so the players love the energy.
