Nobody asked you, Jelena. And considering who your husband is, all the gamesmanship he’s been accused of, and even admitting early on in his career that he would take injury timeouts just so he could rest, she should probably STFU!

Jelena who? lol.
Seriously I didn't even know she got involved in stuff outside her husband's matches.

I was confused for a minute.  nadals,,I thought you were saying Jelena Dokic.  Just saw that it was Novak’s wife.  Who gave her any say in this matter?  Stay in your lane girl….lol.

This lady has to stay seated and just watch her husband.in all honesty I watched Naomi’s complete match and I have to say she was horrible, but I’m not surprised, she is hypocritical ,I have always said this.her come ons we’re just like the ones Hewitt used to do classless.naomi needs to find her personalty, etheir be the “ shy” girl she portrayed to be or just a bad girl. What she did was not illegal but was absolutely gamesmanship.

I didn’t watch even the video clips.  In Naomi’s earlier years, she never uttered a word.  Then she started yelling c’mon to pump herself up, when she was behind or had taken a lead in the 3rd set.  It was always during her serve…..not on her opponents serve.  I can see that Naomi can still play very good tennis, but I don’t see her reaching a GS final any longer.

She is bothered by an ab issue as we speak, and is trying to manage it, to see how far she can reach in this tournament.  If she was pumping herself up on her opponents service games, from what ex players are saying, it’s not cool.  However she has been doing so now for awhile, but she was more quiet about it.  I think she was only thinking about what she wanted to accomplish, and because nobody had ever complained about it, IMO she may have thought there was no issue.  Not making excuses for Naomi, because I can see why she may have been surprised about Cirstea’s response.  I had thought Naomi was yelling out on her own service games.

The umpire said that it isn’t a hindrance.  I think yelling out between your opponents first and second serve could be construed as hindrance, but the umpire said it was fine.

I too have not watched any clips from this match.  I might have to find one.

But I have to wonder what exactly was Osaka doing here.    Was she yelling "Come On" during the ball toss?  Or was it during the period of time when the server turns to one of the ball kids to get another ball?  Was it during the time the server is bouncing the ball (well before the service motion starts)?  How many time did she do this (on and on the whole match, or just during one game in the 3rd set)?   Was it only before 2nd serves?   Did Naomi ever yell "come on" before she herself served.

I also wonder why Cirstea never said anything to the chair about it (during the match or after).

Lastly, I wonder if it would have been an issue for Cirstea if she had won the match.  She probably would not have said a thing about it.

(on second thought, I don't care).

Yeah, that is in poor taste.  I cringe slightly every time I see a player fist pump after an opponent's UFE.  No difference

In her post match interview with the press, she did apologized for what she had said immediately following the match when on court interview.  She admitted that she was still feeling the moment, and nobody had ever complained about her trying to pump herself up.  I too, think that’s cringe worthy.  Anyway, she said that she never meant as a hindrance, and it wasn’t her intention.  As I said I have seen Naomi do that stuff on court, but in my mind she did it on her service games.  That’s I recall.  Anyhow it’s over.  I truly don’t care either way…lol.  I agree with Star.

Excuses. She was on the wrong side of, she knew what she was doing.but like you said is over.but I’m glad she exposing herself for what she really is a disingenuous person .  Now she’ll have to let her racquet  do the talking, maybe this is what she needed.look Missvee hee tennis is great when is on, actually enjoyable to watch.is just the person she portrays to be. And try to be like the Williams when she has never nor will ever experienced what they have.

My view of Osaka has changed a lot since her behaviour back in 2022.  I do have sympathy for those individuals who are unable to handle some of life stressors.  However I still think that Osaka was very ill prepared for life in the spotlight.  Since then, she has presented herself to be a bit unhinged…..if you will.  I will always love watching her tennis, but I just see her differently now.  I’m not the diehard fan I had been previously.  Still hope that she can win another GS title, but I don’t think that’s it’s likely to happen now, mainly because she deals with too many periods of injury.

I now have Mboko, and still have Rybakina…lol.

Guys, there was no unsportsmanlike behavior from Osaka. Look at the video below.

This is why tennis gets labeled as a “sissy” sport, because so many spectators and pundits clutch their pearls the moment a player shows some in-your-face confidence. It’s a battle. Two competitors. Toughen up.
