Draws are out for both tours.  At a quick glance, the WTA draw seems to be balanced.  Both Osaka, Mboko are in Sabalenka’s half of the draw.  Osaka might be Sabalenka’s 4th round opponent.
Mboko is slated to meet Amanda Anisimova in the 4th round if they reach that round.
Bianca Andreescu was granted a WC, but her draw isn’t kind at all…lol.  If she wins her first round against a qualifier….who will have 2 matches behind her, Gauff is her second round opponent….oops!

Rybakina is in the same half as Pegula, Keys, Andreeva, Muchova and Swiatek.

On the ATP side, Alcaraz seems to have a more challenging draw than Sinner.  Carlos  will have probably Dimitrov in the second round, although I don’t think it will be a problem for him.  He can also meet Vacherot, and Rinderknech ( who beat him at least once before).
Djokovic is in Carlos half of the draw, and so is Draper.

On the bottom half Sinner will meet either Shapo or Tsitsipas as his second round opponent…lol.  Can you imagine?  2 former top 10 opponents meeting in the first round at a Masters tournament.  Shapo was in the top 10 for a week I think, back in 2022….a lifetime ago.

Medvedev and Rublev are on their way to Oman, where they will board a private jet to Turkey and make their way to California.  This is simply unbelievable.  It’s written in Revelations, the final book in the King James Version of the Bible, that in the last days, there will be wars and rumours of war.  Are we in the last days on earth?🙄

Feel,as though my head is spinning.  World is in total chaos, and we know whom we have to thank for this outcome.

We are definitely in the end times. The world has had no break since Covid.
So many lives already lost and just when we think these wars might be coming to an end, this happens.
God have mercy.

And the media will make it seem like the US is justified.  It's disgusting.  Israel is the cause of Middle East strife.  This is what they always intended.  Iran was a brutal dictatorship but let's not pretend Israel isn't a rogue entity and above reproach.

Fedex, I agree with your statements about the “Legacy media.”  I’m not listening to their reports, because I now know we don’t get the real news.  However I’m following the new media on some of the social media networks.  Israel for sure is behind this, and Netanyahu is the driving force.  Trump is following orders from Netanyahu.  I’m now learning how the world works.  Years ago, I followed Legacy news, but now I take everything said with a grain of salt.

Netanyahu wants to control the Middle East, and Trump wants to have him attain that goal.  I’m just sick at what his happening in the world now.  Israel has never abided by international law, and Trump also turns up his nose at the order of international and domestic law.  Birds of a feather!!!

It seems that Iran is on a furious tear throughout the Gulf region in the Middle East, targeting U.S interests in the region.  They just bombed an oil refinery in Dubai, or something like that…lol.  Anyway the tennis players who were scheduled to be at  Indian Wells this week, got out in the nick of time.   They are on their way to L.A.
Trump and Netanyahu got more than they had bargained for with this act of aggression against Iran.

I’m aware that I’m not discussing tennis in some of my posts, but I cannot help but comment on World news at the moment.  I don’t see it as politics, but the peril occurring at the moment.  Everywhere in the world there are hotspots.  I have always carried an interest in World affairs, since I was a young girl growing up in Barbados.  That thirst for knowledge continues to this day.

Meanwhile, JCF is still giving Carlos interviews. That guy needs to move on.

Shapo vs Tsitsipas tonight.
The two talented one handed back hand disappointments on the ATP.
I am giving Shapo the edge.

Sek, I didn’t think that they would be playing first round tonight, but the organizers want to have a marquee matchup for the first night.
Regarding both of these dying breed of one handed back hand tennis players, at least Tsitsipas hung around the top 10 since he was 20 or 21 years old.  He faded lately because of injuries.  Shapo doesn’t have the heart, and true hunger to be one of the beat in the top 10.  However I love to watch his brand of tennis, even more than Stef.

Shapo is just stubborn, he refuses to make adjustments.
Tsitsipas got figured out by most of the boys and has not improved, then the Badosa distructions, plus the coaching drama with the dad. Too much extra baggage and he is not that mentally strong either.

I hear you about Denis.  I regret saying this Sek, but Denis present as someone who is not too bright ….lol.  If you know that with some minor adjustments, you could be right up there with Sinner and Alcaraz, and you don’t do anything, that suggests that a couple of things.
1).  You are afraid of change
2).  You are happy with your level of success playing the way that you want to play, and really don’t want it badly enough.  It ultimately leads in that direction.  It’s his life, and he is already a millionaire many times over.  This year if he gets out of this funk he is presently in, ( he’s 4-4 on the year so far) he can get close to winning almost 20 million. If not, by next year.  So it’s all good.

On the social side of things.  Sabalenka skipped all of February because she was all loved up with her significant other.  Aryna is engaged to Giorgios.  Saw a small clip of her waving her hand to show off this gorgeous engagement ring…it’s huge!! Lol!  Congrats to her and fiancé.

No.  Injuries, pressure, and loss of confidence.  She got one in during a time Serena was on crack in finals and nervous and to her credit also has an IW title.

Fedex, remember the year she won the USO, during the Asian fall tour, she got injured when playing Pliskova.
Her coach was telling her to stop and she said she could beat Pliskova on one leg. 🤣🤣
It is very unfortunate that Andreescu is no more.

Sek, I don’t think Andreescu was on PEDs, so I agree with Fedex’s assessment on her present form.  I think that’s why she decided to step back to the ITF tour to gather some wins.  She has no confidence at the moment.  I don’t think she won an ITF title either in the last 2 months.  Her serve is ok, but she doesn’t the power of Mboko.  The injuries have really destabilized her game in the last 7 years. Jeez, she is now 25 years old.  Such a shame!

I think Venus had said that she froze her eggs, so maybe she will have have a young person carry her baby….if she intends having a family.

Mboko won her first match as a top 10 player in straight sets, but she was nervous, and a bit rusty at the start of the match.  All eyes are on her now….lol.  Anyway Birrell gave her a close match in 2 tight sets.  Good on Mboko for taking it in str8s.

Raducanu also won her first match as a top 30 seed, plus she has Mark Petchey in her corner again.  I didn’t see any of these matches.  Followed scores for Mboko.

Sek, it seems that Vicky’s rise into the top 10, is the fastest rise by a teenager  since Jennifer Capriati in 1990.🙄.  Jennifer did that at age 14 or 15 years.
Can you believe that?  So proud of this girl,  but she still needs to tame her powerful shots a bit more to eliminate the high UE count.  However, this girl is all about having an aggressive mindset.  So, she will make the adjustments over time.

Why does Amanda come out so slow in the first set of matches?.  Blinkova got her right away by winning the first game, and broke at the end of the set to take it 7-5.
Amanda better turn this around quickly, or otherwise she’s outta here.  I still remember how Blinkova upended Rybakina at 2024 AO in the second round.  Played the match of her life to take out Rybakina.

I know Sek!  Leylah better get from under Daddy’s wing, because she actually needs to start making her own decisions about where she is headed in tennis.  She is now 23 years old….almost 24 in September.  At this point she has to know what is required to have progress further.  Another coach added to the team might be of some assistance.  I think she is falling under the same heading as Tsitsipas who is failing at this point, because he can only trust dear old Dad.

Just found out that Gauff sustained an injury during the match.  She had her left arm bandaged when I tuned in to see what had transpired after I stopped watching it.  Eala won the first set, and was up 2-0 in the second, and Coco was done.  It was ov she was hampered.  Have to read the match report to find out what happened during this match.  Coco’s left arm and wrist were not taped up at the start of the match.
Unfortunately Gauff’s serving woes continue.

Mboko is now winning her matches in straight sets, unless she plays Rybakina or Sabalenka, or maybe other top 10 players.  So impressed with this girl.  Her aim is always to see how far she can go in a tournament.  Keeps everything simple.  She is already 15-3 on the year.

Players are beginning to figure out how to beat Mirra Andreeva, and she lost today to Siniakova….lol.  Mirra should not have lost the match, but the wind was her enemy today, and she gave up a lot of double faults.  Mirra couldn’t keep a lead either.  She needs to become stronger on her serve.  So the Champion goes out 3rd round.

So there has been a debate on some podcast out there who swear that Andreeva is the best player of the new generation.  Hmm…let’s see about that in a year or so.

Have to go with Mboko at the moment because of her speed around the court, and I think that she might have to use her variety as a strategy in trying to defeat Anisimova.  If Vicky can serve as she did 2 nights ago against Kalinskaya, she has a really good chance of the win.  However, Amanda can also light up the court….lol.  I’m hoping that Vicky can expose her slowness of foot.…lol.  That would be her best chance of beating Amanda.

Naomi is dead wrong.  But had that been Serena when she was playing, Osaka would've been Simone biles splits across the court with BH winners blindfolded.  Same with the other clowns on the ATP against Carlos who basically mentioned that in his press conference yesterday.  Also, I know it's old, but glad Tien took out Ben and happy for Fonseca.  Stupid American frat boys out.  Hopefully Fonseca can make it somewhat competitive vs sinner tonight.

I didn’t even have a comment on Naomi’s match against Sabalenka.  That’s how much I don’t care about Naomi anymore.  She allowed her fragile mental state to ruin her career.  I have to say that, because when you realize that you have a problem, wherever it might be, you try and do something positive about it.  Instead she kept pulling out of tournaments, and not dealing head on with her mental health issues.

I dislike quitters.  Had sympathy for her 4 plus years ago, but not anymore. I’m watching the direction in which she’s headed, and I’m not in favour of her making tennis all about fashion.  No Siree!!

From the little that I saw last night, Fonseca acquitted himself very well in this match.  He only needs time and more exposure to these matches, and more physical conditioning to beat the top 5 players.

Last time Tien faced Sinner, he was demolished in str8s.  Let’s see what happens tomorrow night.

The biggest difference between fonseca and Jannik/a Carlos is defense.  Fonseca moves well but it isn’t otherworldly like the other two.  Can’t create offense from defensive positions.  That’s the biggest difference.  Off the ground, as good as them I feel.

I haven’t watched Fonseca much at all.   So I defer to your assessment at the moment Fedex.
Cannot watch these matches happening at the moment.  They have all been two bleh 🤮…lol
Will return for tonight’s matches, especially the ATP, as well as Rybakina.

Muchova is so wrong.  Iga must be finding her confidence again.  And Pegula....YUCK

The court suits Iga’s game.  Too slow and gritty for most players.  Rybakina struggles on this court, even though she has lifted the title once.  However, it will be interesting to see how Uga fares if she meets Rybakina in the semis.

Carlos is showing Ruud that he has nothing with which to compete with him.  Poor Ruud!  What am I saying?  Can’t feel sorry for them.  Ruud is a millionaire times over.

lol, Ruud is that guy you really root for but he has nothing to hurt Carlos and Sinner.
Reminds me of David Ferrer against Rafa on clay. David would beat everyone and then meets Rafa and it is routine.

Carlos is so much better this year.  No noticeable dips now.  He is playing fantastic tennis.  It’s taking Ruud a tremendous effort to hang with Carlos in this set.

Rudd was clawing his way in the 2nd set yet Carlos yawning still won that.  He's on another level this kid who is slowly no longer a kid lol

Only watching this Draper/Djokovic match, because of Draper…lol.  Although its impressive to see how Djokovic continues to remain competitive at the highest level at age 38 plus…almost 39 years.

My goodness!!  Did you guys see those ridiculous points from Djokovic and Draper in the first game of the third set?  Draper is trying to move Djokovic all over the court…lol.  Hope that Draper holds his serve now after such a long game, which Djokovic won.  He leads 1-0 at the top of the 3rd set.

Keeping an eye on this. Let's see if Draper has balls.

Jack Draper served for the match at 5-4….git broken.  He must have nervous.  Anyway, he got it done in the tiebreaker!!  Impressive performance!  Just a couple of tournaments back, and he defeated Djokovic, who might have beaten a whole host of other top players under those circumstances.  So happy that Draper showed up!!

Mboko played well, but missed several opportunities to break Sabalenka in the first set.  On to Miami.
Watching Tien vs Sinner is very puzzling.  However I think I heard one of commentators say that Tien might be suffering physically a bit.

Mboko will get better, she still has more room to grow.
Tien injured or not, result would be the same against Sinner's game.
Did you see the Draper-Medvedev incindent. Med was wrong.

Not expecting Mboko to beat Sabalenka yet, but the time will come sooner than we think at this moment.
The way Sinner trashed Tien yesterday makes me wonder how the hell Medvedev always loses to Tien.  It seems Medvedev’s problem is/was, that he is too one dimensional, and extends rallies, which seems to play into Tien’s strength.  That’s part of the reason that I’m not sure what to make of Tien.

Anyway, Meddy was a douchebag last night facing Draper.  He was totally in the wrong, and had the grace to look ashamed during the post match presser.  That was a case of trying to win at all costs.  He did Jack dirty!  Hope he loses tomorrow.

Sek, I’m also bemused by what has happening with Iga over the past 2 years now.  Sure she won the big one last year. Why she losing to Svitolina?  Even with Svitolina powering her game a bit more, I feel that she shouldn’t be losing to Elina. Didn’t watch the match.
She just lost No 2 ranking to Rybakina.

Oh man Fedex, I didn’t see the match, because I have my grand daughters with me for the couple of days.  This week is their Spring break.
Couldn’t believe that Carlos was beaten in straight sets to Meddy?!?  What in the hell happened in this match.  Thank goodness i recorded both matches.  Will watch them later.
