I happened to wake up just prior to 3 a.m….lol.  However, I’m not watching this match in progress.  However I see that Rybakina is up by a break at the moment leading 3-2 first set.  Fingers crossed for her.

Rybakina won the first set 6-4.  I think Sabalenka took a BRB,,because it took several minutes for the second set to begin.  Sabalenka held at 40-15.  Rybakina has to be careful here not to drop her serve now.  Still not watching.

Sabalenka took the second set 6-4 on Rybakina’s serve….just like 3 years ago.  She serves first the 3rd set. Goodness me!

No Rybakina win.  She had to get it done in 2 sets.  Sabalenka is up 2-0 in the third set.  Maybe I will watch the match now.

Wow just wow.  3-0 down against the baby pusher in front of trains one.  This was a prime example of how on-court coaching helps.  0-3, deuce Vukov tells her she needs more energy and Rybakina just found first serves and dominated the rest of the match.  And how about that final game.  2 massive FH winners and finishes it off with an ace.  Sabalenka, if met with resistance, cracks more often than not.

Rybakina turned the third set around, and got the break back at 3-1, then won the match 6-4.  Congrats to Rybakina.
Sabalenka keeps losing more GS finals, than she wins them.  Rybakina is simply too great of a player.

Also, Vukov isn't the villain everyone made him out to be to be honest.  He just seems very very brutally honest but I don't get Damir Dokic vibes the way the press made it out to be. And clearly she needs him and leans on him heavily.

You are so funny!  I couldn’t watch because I was nervous for Rybakina.  I still don’t know how she was able to pull it out!  We all know that she is a great player!  Rybakina needs everything to be right with her…physically, emotionally and spiritually.  Happy for her.  At least she shakes the 1 Slam wonder question that was starting to surface.

Miss Vee, she's basically Amanda with a serve.  If Amanda had a serve to get her out of trouble, she would've won the USO.

No wonder I like Amanda so much.  You are right.  Both with so much easy power off both wings, and both neeed to work on their speed….lol!

Both women had the same number of points.  Chris Fowler didn’t say how many points.

I have to watch it later in its entirety.  Seems to have a very high quality match!  Happy that WTA had a great final.

Another GS final, another loss for Sabalenka. Happy for Rybakina and hopefully she wins more GS.
She has an easy game but I see her giving up in matches often.
It is going to get mentally tougher and tougher for Sabalenka to win these finals.

As for Amanda, she needs to get more fit and the boobs need to go. Then we can get her in these conversations.

Sugar, who is Jacob?

The Rybakina story: The coach was very tough on her during matches, I think abusive like swearing and calling her names.
The WTA (I think led by Shriver) somehow came up with a story that they were dating and she needed to be rescued from an abusive relationship.
This is because in the past coaches took advantage of young girls and no one spoke up.
Anyway, Rybakina stood by him, and the WTA suspended him for a while.

FedEx, you can post from your phone.  I’m doing so right now.  It just hard with the formatting when the threads get long (we don’t have to have these super long threads).

For the long threads, I’ll just type up the post in notes the copy and post reply.

Anyway,  another “loser trophy” for Sabalenka,   She probably in the locker room peeing on it now. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Missvee , I knew about the suspension ,but is she supported him and continues to do it then things were not as bad, it seems he has the formula to her game. I saw her in DC last year and I liked her. Is funny how she and Sabalenka are cool. Just goes to show all that political crap is nonsense I know Ryba left Russia to  Kazakhstan, but still Russian.

Yes sugar, Elena and Aryna have always seemed to have a friendly rivalry.  You are correct about Rybakina.  Her parents and sister all live in Moscow, so when she leaves the tour to go back home, she goes to Moscow.  However she always shows up in Kazakhstan to support the young kids playing tennis.  I think the officials of Kazakh government show up for her big titles appearances also.  Thank goodness she sought help when she was 17 or 18 years old, because Russia’s tennis federation did not think that she was talented enough.  She had no physio, or solo coach, until she reached out for assistance from Kazakhstan.  This is the main reason that her results were so inconsistent since she first started winning on tour.  She would reach finals, and lose them all.  Think at one point, she had reached 5 finals before age 20, but had lost them all.  She used to have dips many times in 3 set matches.

I can see that she become stronger physically, and since late summer 2025, has become more resilient.  Hopefully Sek, we will not see her giving up….as you say, so easily.

Sek, I have an iPhone.   You would have to download the Chrome App, to post from your phone.

In chrome at the bottom right of the screen, you will see the “…” menu.  Select that then scroll down a bit and you will see “Request Desktop Site”.  Select that.

The formatting gets real bad for long threads.  Turning your phone on its side (for landscape view) works a little better.  But all in all it is still pretty bad.

Vukov isn't the villain they made him out to be.  The way she interacts with him doesn't scream traumatized victim like they portrayed.
