It’s here folks….the last Masters tournament of the season. Thank God it’s a one week tournament.
Carlos is top seed, and Sinner is on the opposite side of the draw. Hopefully Sinner recovers from whatever happened in the match today. Didn’t watch any matches today. Seems as if Zverev is making strides to try to beat these top 2 guys. As anyone might guess, this tournament is stacked, even with all the withdrawals of inured players. Dimitrov is back. Think he is on the schedule to play first round tomorrow.

Watching Dimi vs GMP. Fun first set and Grigor win it in a tiebreak. So good to watch his marvellous shotmaking and graceful movement on court again. It has been 4 months now since he last played tennis.

Sekasi, you were correct. It seems Denis retired in his match facing Fonseca due to a flare up in his right knee. That injury laid him up for almost 5 months, back in 2023. Hopefully he will be okay during this tournament, if he gets past Fonseca.

Miss_Vee, I watched much of that first set of GMP-Dimi. That was interesting. GMP is actually a good mover.

V.V got Lehecka real good, 1&3.
Good win for Diallo as well.
Fonseca-Shapo into a 3rd set.

VV is on a roll…lol. Fonseca beats Denis again. Still don’t know why Shapo takes his foot off the gas, when he wins the first set. Loses in 3 sets again.
Anyway FAA keeps his hopes alive for Turin.

FAA would need Nole to drop out in order for him to qualify for Turin.

I’m aware of that also. However, he stands a chance of being the first alternate in Turin if he keeps winning matches.

Carlos is becoming frustrated in his match vs Norrie….spraying balls, making lots of errors in this second set. Norrie has the lead in this second set, after Carlos captured the first set.

Omg Sek, I had to leave the match in the 3rd set for several minutes. Just returned to check to see that Carlos lost the match. Carlos really does not do well indoors. I bet this is why Sinner played Vienna, but it seems to have been part of this schedule anyway.
Now Fritz vs Vukic is on court next.

Sinner can regain the No 1 ranking if he wins Paris Masters. Care to guess who can stop him? Maybe only his body can stop him. If he is gets to the final, he should win it.

Miss_Vee, this court was not his thing, he had over 50 UEs, hopefully he will do better in Turin.
i think indoors will be the tough one for him.

Wow! 50 UE! Hopefully Turin will be better. He has not done well on indoors at the end of the season over the past several years, since he was part of the elite group of players. He has more learning to do on the surface.

Dimi, lol, gave Medvedev a walk over.
V.V wins another match and more ranking points.
I hope Fonseca is not injured, that match will be FHs on fire from both ends of the court.

Sek, he was one of my faves ,enjoyed his game and he is sincerely a good guy .he just relies too much on the other opponents to make mistakes ,he has a nice heavy topspin but needs more variety ,his defensive style will keep him where he is at.

I actually read the article on his wedding. He is such a nice guy! So well brought up, and seems to adore his wife. She is a gorgeous girl, and seems to be equally nice as Felix. He is such a romantic person also. Hope that they continue to be this happy through all the peaks and valleys of life.

Felix is now in the third set against Altmaier who won the first set. Felix won the second set, and right now has a break point in the first game of the 3rd set. He took it, and is now up 2-0 in the third set.

Felix just conquered VV in 2 easy sets…6-2, 6-2. Vacherot bowed to Felix as he approached the net to shake hands..nice moment…lol. So Felix is into SF in Paris. Hope that he can beat out Musetti, and qualify for Turin.

Sugar, I had to leave home, but will check video clips later.
I was watching Zverev vs Sinner occasionally while I was out today, and the scoreline in the first set when tuned in, shocked me…knowing how well Zverev had played Sinner last weekend. Then I heard the commentators talking about a Zverev injury. Sasha is old school, unless his leg is broken, he will come out and play the scheduled match. Maybe that accounts for the scoreline. Sinner admitted that he could see Sasha wasn’t at his best. Will find out later when I read about the match.

It’s FAA vs Sinner with all to play for in this final in Paris Masters. If Felix wins, he is one step closer to qualify in Turin, ahead of Musetti who has entered Athens tournament to boost his chances of qualifying. If Sinner wins today, he will overtake Carlos as No 1 tomorrow. However, he will revert to #2 at the start of the ATP final in Turin. He is defending Champion. So the year end No 1 depends on the winner of that final in Turin.

Sinner is champion in Paris Masters and returns to ATP No 1. Felix would have beaten anyone…not not named Sinner today. He will be playing Metz next week to maintain his lead over Musetti in the race to qualify for Turin.
