Mike sat down at the table in the Lamplighter Pub, and he started
talking about how "The Hit" was going to be punished for allegedly
sabotaging this deal. Mike had the but of a cigar in his hand, and he
was high. "The Hit" figured of all people Mike from Kinghaven should
also know he would have nothing to do with the loss of the package.
He goes on to tell "The Hit" just what to expect in the future. He
starts telling "The Hit" just how the boys are going to haze him.
Mike appeared to be telling the story for someone else. "The Hit"
started to wonder what part Mike may have had in the Emergency
Broadcast on the CBC, The Home Invasion, Motor Vehicles and the Civic
that night, No home Invaders Arrested, the silenced media, and the
bust gone in 60 seconds, Mike from Kinghaven was obviously with
Little Mike from the Piccadilly Pub. This meant that he was in on
something with Jimmy The Junkie and his Crew. Mike was no angel
himself, as he told "The Hit" he went down for auto theft because of
his dependency. Mike continued to rant on in front of the bar while a
Vancouver Police Department car sat outside the bar for the whole
evening. Then, Mike forgets what he is supposed to say next. He says
"I'd kill you now myself if that wasn't sitting outside". Mike goes
back to the bathroom in the Lamplighter.

In Lethbridge in the spring the gulley climb back and forth to work
and school killed the Volkswagons engine. It was not worth fixing,
and "The Hit" phoned Leo in Humboldt to see if his new bike was
ready. Fortunately, the RD 400 was ready, and Leo went out of his way
to deliver the bike. He sent the YZ back to Saskatchewan with Leo.
The RD 400 cost "The Hit" $1700.00 dollars, and he rode to school is
style to the final exams at Winston and the Woodward's Gas Bar. He
finished school in 1978 with an 82 % average with what was known then
as full matriculation. He skipped the graduation proceeding, as he
had skipped his grade 12 in school. "The Hit" gave his notice at the
Woodward's Gas Bar, and he sent his final marks to the University of
Saskatchewan. He bought a pup tent, and he decided to go to Edmonton
for the summer. The Commenwealth Games were coming to Edmonton, and
he thought that would be a good place to work until he started
University in the fall. He said goodbye to his mother and Harvey. He
got on his bike, and he left for Edmonton for the summer. St. Brieux,
Humboldt, Watrous, Ear Falls, Oxdrift, Shaunavon, Lloydminster,
Claresholm, Lethbridge, and he ended Harvey's run from the twins. He
would add Edmonton on his own.

The next morning was October 24 TH, and the initial shock of the
diagnosis was starting to turn into anger. "The Hit" wondered if
Jimmy The Junkie and Little Mike's friends at the Piccadilly were on
their way to the clinic. Jimmy The Junkie changed the subject from
computer equipment to Little Mike and his Hepatitis C in New
Westminster on Manitoba Street. That's when Jimmy The Junkie laughed
again, and he said "that he would never get tested" in the spring of
1996! Could it be that "The Hit" and "Little Mike" were the beginning
of a trend for Jimmy The Junkie and the Mysterious Financier? Of
course, Jimmy The Junkie won't get tested because that's his little
weapon. His little weapon would be seen by the law as assault. "The
Hit" wondered how many victims he had at the Piccadilly Pub? "The
Hit" expected his letter have arrived already, and now would Jimmy The
Junkie still be laughing at the boys in the Piccadilly Pub? Silently,
"The Hit" hoped there were no other victims in the bar, because he
would not wish this disease on his worst enemy. Would he laugh at
him, Little Mike, and the Hell's Angels in the Piccadilly Pub today?
He started up his computers to complete his proposal to Garth's
mother, and he prepared a synopsis of the current state of Onlineglass-
com.

In Bowden, it took close to an hour to get the sleeping bag out of the
fender and chain. "The Hit" knew how lucky he was to miss being rear
ended by the semi and trailer. He found a place to setup his tent,
and he went to a restaurant to have a meal. He ordered beer with his
meal, and he tried to get some sleep in his tent in a little bluff
just off the # 2 Highway. The next morning he rode through Innisfail,
Red Deer, Rosedale Valley, and Leduc. He rode into Edmonton on the
Calgary Trail NW early in the afternoon, and he bought a map and a
newspaper to find himself a room at a YMCA from a phone booth. He
rode the Scona Road NW to Conners Road NW before crossing the North
Saskatchewan River. He rode down Rossdale Road NW until he turned
right on Bellamy Hill NW where he found a parking lot on the corner of
102 ND Ave Northwest and 101 ST NW. He parked his bike, and he rented
a room at the Don Wheaton Family YMCA Centre at 10211 102 Avenue in
downtown Edmonton. He was alone, but he was alive.

Then, when the silence was at it's strongest before the early morning
shift started their vehicles in their daily trek, a cloud sized drum
beat just to the northwest of the house. The first beat almost
sounded like thunder in the quiet of the night, and their were 3 more
beats which were audible at his distance. The night turned quiet for
a few seconds again, before there was shuffling and a little laughter
which was barely audible in the quiet residential area on the hill.
"The Hit" thought about the beating drum beats. There was not much
doubt what drum had beaten? "The Hit" thought about going to take a
look after a few moments of silence to see if he got the message to
Jimmy The Junkie, his Crew, and the Mysterious Financier. He waited a
little longer before what sounded like a vehicle starting, and leaving
the area rather quickly. Did the mouse get the cheese? Did the
Piccadilly letter work? "The Hit" was starting to believe he did not
need to stamp the envelope. There would never be a post mark!

was real. The Mysterious Financier AKA Gang from Clavet was blaming
him for an international drug deal gone wrong. "The Hit" now
understood why the man in Pacific Central Rail Station looked
familiar. He believed it was Kevin from Rumours in Saskatoon. He
also recognized BJ in Aldergrove at Barb's uncles in Aldergrove. They
were behind Jimmy The Junkie and his crew. How long has it been?
Somehow, the Gang from Clavet hooked up with Jimmy The Junkie and his
Crew as far back as 1997 at the wedding in Winlaw in the Slocan
Valley. Now, "The Hit" understood how Jimmy The Junkie and his Crew
walked from the home invasion. They got the currency from the Gang
from Clavet somewhere between the spring of 1997 and the winter of
1998 before the package was lost. Jimmy The Junkie and his Crew did
the same thing to the Gang from Clavet as they did to him when he left
them use his car in the spring of 1994 when they were caught
speeding. "The Hit" thought back to Saskatoon to the origin of the
Mysterious Financier.

"The Hit" caught Bill in the office working late that day. The time
zones caught "The Hit" off guard, and he made a mental note to
consider both the Russian and Eastern time zones more carefully. His
late hours were working well with Russia who was 13 hours ahead,
however he realized that his dealings with the east coast would occur
in their morning as they were 4 hours behind. Bill and "The Hit"
discussed the options available for the timing of the meeting. "The
Hit" agreed to meet with their group on Saturday November 7 TH before
the Veterans Day Holiday. The meeting would be held at Independent's
auto glass warehouse, and their group would travel from Philadelphia
and Washington for the meeting. The phone conversation was left with
"The Hit" confirming the timing of the meeting in on November 6 TH
1997, once he had purchased his ticket to leave the Vancouver Airport
on November 6TH. "The Hit" would now need to buy a ticket.

In Burnaby, "The Hit" started to realize that the Clan from Clavet
wasn't doing anything but taunting him. They had been around all this
time, and they had plenty of opportunity. He had realized how
vulnerable he was at many times since New Westminster in 1997 on

try to scare and intimidate him. That's what Jimmy The Junkie was
doing in the Honda Civic! That's what they have been doing all

During the second week of April 1998, "The Hit" frequented Avanti's
Neighbourhood Pub on Commercial with Bob, and "The Hit" saw Little
Mike plowing the road in front of him in the bar. Little Mike was
working the Clan from Clavet's accusation in the bar on Commercial
Drive, and "The Hit" realized that he was not doing as well as he had
hoped. Later in the week, he decided to go for a game of pool at
Joe's Cafe on Commercial Drive for the chance to meeting people he
could talk to about the home invasion, and he could defend himself.
Instead, while he played pool several young women who he did not know
were pitching the story at the coffee tables while he ended up playing
pool alone. He was isolated. Many would consider the extent that the
Clan from Clavet went through on Commercial Drive to be extreme, but
was it extreme given what they had caused. You see they needed people
to believe them, and they had to isolate "The Hit" to hide what they
had done with the 4 junkies. They had no choice but to invest a lot
of time and energy into slandering "The Hit". They had to conspire to
kill him now.

Leo in St. Brieux. MJ reminded "The Hit" that they had met each other
at the Trailer Court on 19th Street in Saskatoon in the spring of
1987. MJ reminded "The Hit" that they had bought shingles for her
house trailer when they put the a new roof on the trailer. That was
how she was able to get into contact with Leo. "The Hit" had bought
a fire damaged house trailer from the Sutherland Trailer Court in
Sutherland. Sutherland is located just outside of Saskatoon on the #
5 Highway. He had moved the fire damaged house trailer to a Trailer
Court in the Green Hill area on 19th Street and Ave W South in
Saskatoon Saskatchewan. He ended up rebuilding the trailer just
across the lane from MJ.

The first call over the weekend at the end of November was to Leo. He
called to thank him for his help as executor of the town drunks
estate. He let him know that everything went well with the bank.
Then, he told Leo that MJ had called, and he had news for him. "The

The first call over the weekend at the end of November was to Leo. He

estate. He let him know that everything went well with the bank.
