Hello,

I hope this message finds you well.  I am reaching out from Natural Curiosity to share some NEW upcoming learning opportunities and would greatly appreciate your help in circulating them through your network or newsletters. Thank you for your continued support!

The Birds of Anishinaabe Aki Returns: Ecology and Language

Natural Curiosity and the Outdoor Learning School and Store are offering another Birds of Anishinaabe Aki online session. Join Joseph Pitawanakwat, Andrés Jiménez, and Junaid Khan (Creators Garden Birds) for a continued exploration of the deep ecological knowledge held within Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe language) bird names.
In this new session, the presenters will introduce different bird species than those discussed previously, offering insights into how Anishinaabemowin reflects relationships, responsibilities, and the roles these beings play within the natural world. Whether you’re joining for the first time or returning from the previous session, this gathering offers new teachings, perspectives, and relationships to learn from.
Date & Time: Tuesday, June 16th, 2026, 5:00-6:30 PM ET

Cost: Free for Indigenous participants, sliding scale for all.

Hi to the Pipits!
I'd like to share with this group about a mindfulness program I regularly offer (in Spring and Fall), which is called Naturally Mindful: Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation in Nature

The course is a 6-week course, with a silent retreat as part of it, and it begins next Friday. I have been teaching this course for the past 10 years at the beautiful Kortright Centre for Conservation in Vaughan.
Spaces are still available for the Spring course, which begins next friday (May 22), and is held on Friday mornings until June 26 at Kortright. The silent retreat is held on Sunday, June 7.

I am a mindfulness-based stress reduction teacher. Teaching with the partnership of nature is my favourite way to teach mindfulness. Plus getting to be supported by the wonderful unfolding of spring. If you have been looking to learn mindfulness tools in a supportive environment, this course may be a fit. I will teach this course again in the Fall.

I will be happy to offer a 10% discount to members of the Pipits. Just email me directly to let me know.
If you have any questions, feel free to connect with me.

Thank you!
Warmest regards,
Ameeta.
