Good afternoon bird enthusiasts!
Just a reminder that the Bobolink Bonanza event is coming up this Saturday, August 23rd. The weather looks perfect, so we are a go!
Please bring with you:
- Sunscreen
- Insect repellant
- Closed toed, comfortable shoes
Our site is pretty “rough”, in that it is a field site with no running water and no power. However, we do have an outhouse and a washing station for washing hands. We will bring plastic water bottles for drinking water but feel free to bring your own as well.
We are running low on chairs, so if you have your own camping chairs, please feel free to bring them along!
The options for the BBQ will be veggie or normal burgers, and chicken sausages. We will also have a raw veggie platter and some snacks as well as drinks.
Once again, please drive up the laneway and park by the barn. There is lots of parking space there and it is only a short walk back to the banding lab. The address is 867 River Rd in Cayuga, but your GPS may direct you past the actual address – we will put up lots of bright posters around the correct laneway, and there is also a flag with the address number on it.
Lastly, just wanted to let you all know that we have banded 32 Bobolinks already this past week, and we have good hopes that there will be some around for the event!
