Hello from the Haldimand Bird Observatory and thank you for your pre-registration in our event! Below are some important details pertaining to the event. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
Location:
Our banding site is located at 867 River Rd just outside of Cayuga. Please drive up the laneway and park on the grassy hill by the barn. To access the event, walk back down the laneway towards the road and then down the path through the prairie directly across from the laneway. There will be a table for registration about 100m from the road.
Timing:
Bobolink Bonanza is scheduled for Saturday August 23rd. The event will begin at 9am and run until around 12:30pm (whenever lunch gets finished up). If it looks to be raining on the 23rd, you will receive another email that the event has been moved to the rain date (Sunday the 24th).
Food:
There will be coffee and pastries available in the morning. Around 11:30 we will start a BBQ lunch which will consist of hamburgers, veggie burgers and chicken sausages. There will be a raw veggie platter and some potato chips on the side. Drinks will also be provided (sodas, juice boxes and water).
Payment:
Either cash or e-transfer on site. All proceeds go towards funding the event and excess is used for funding our conservation activities, including our bird banding equipment, plant community restoration and more. There will also be merch available for purchase (clothing and stickers).
