Hello and Bonsoir Pipits!

We're back in Ontario from Quebec and well aware we should have paid more attention to our French classes, especially not on making the substitute French teacher cry... and just received an update on the Grimsby Wetlands Cinnamon Teal visitor. See below...

We're going to Grimsby Wetlands Tues morning at 7:30am if anyone wants to meet us there you're welcome to join!

Hello Friends of the Grimsby Wetlands

Well we are receiving more news coverage for the Cinnamon Teal and the Grimsby Wetlands. This time on CBC television.

https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/video/9.6516636

The interviewees on the news clip are Marcie Jacklin and Kayo Roy.

Marcie is a life long birder from Fort Erie and is part of the Canadian Team managing the Niagara International Birding Festival held in February.

Kayo is another life long birder from Fonthill. Kayo is a co author of the “Birds of Niagara”.

In the photo shown in the news clip of the three bird watchers you will see Bob Curry with Marcie and Kayo. Bob is the author of “Birds of Hamilton and Surrounding Areas.

The excellent photos were supplied by local bird watchers and we found it interesting that photo credits were given on TV. This is great.

These photographers provided the photos to us so we could include them in our press release last week.

This additional news coverage is important in bringing a greater knowledge of birds to the public and the importance of our natural areas.

As of today the Cinnamon Teal is still being seen at the Grimsby Wetlands.

Thanks for your continued support,

Bruce and Laurie Mackenzie
