Summary action items based on initial feedback

Include the following in the list

Inclusion of water: Water is still included.  Include Dondi in the list.

Liza Antonio: Will you be in cebu, to help handle/facilitate?

Bebet’s name: include this in the list.

Tony Oposa’s name: inlcude in the list.

Gov. Joey Salceda:

CC Financing options: presentor

Energy: Al suggests Mario something of DoE.

Presentations: I already requested Kristine to email Bebet all the presentations last.  The yahoogroup files section can only handle 100 MB of files..

Pam, can you then please coordinate with Bebet on the invites of the speakers?

Coordinate with presentors: to get their revised presentations for the visayan summit.

Specific items:

1:  remove all references to the background on CC.  this will already be covered by fr. jett.

2: on the impacts for the sector, aside from general impacts to the philippines, as much as possible zero in on impacts for the visayas.

for energy, we need to mention existing energy sources in the visayas and how these are likely to be affected by CC consequences.

for agri, more focus on the main crops in the visayas, corn, rice, sugarcane, coconut

3: more specfic recommendations should be added to the draft measures needed.  they are looking for specific recommendations from the experts.

for example in energy:

-     opportunities formini-hydro exists in some islands of the visayas. more serious effort to explore them should be done soonest.

-     geothermal in negros occ also needs to be put on stream asap.

-     many LGUs in the visayas are seriously looking at jatropha. what's our position on this?  if limited to marginal lands and will not displace agri crops, okay na ba ito?

-     what about ethanol from sugarcane? what does the literature tell us re carbon footprint of bioethanol?
