Hey All,

Welcome to The People's Feed Mailing list.  You can just reply to this mailing list and it will forward the email to everyone on this list.  This will help us keep the conversation public and inclusionary.

Recently, I've enhanced some of the functionality related to the logged in consumers.  There should be a bit more messaging, the ability to log out, the ability to set some preferences, etc...

I can't think of a ton of features to offer logged in consumers. Currently, I've set up options that would allow them to:
-hide ads
-hide member profile (does nothing currently)
-Choose favorite category (does nothing, will affect content ranking)
-Choose favorite feed (does nothing, will affect content ranking)

Can you guys think of any other features to add?

Thanks,
Jim

I think you did a good job of covering the initial basics of
customization, below are just extras that you may or may not be
interested in.

Email a friend a specific article, not necessarily the article itself
but rather the intro page, (i'm not sure what you call it) but the
page where you click, 'read full article'
-- maybe after the user sends the email to their friend, in like
a confirmation page type thing, suggest that they check back to see if
their friend posts a comment regarding the story they suggested for
them? This could build more dialogue within TPF and between users.

Enter zip code to get specific weather news (and maybe traffic/mass
transit alerts?)

Can you email a forgotten username and password?

Daily Reads?
Add the story that got the most hits per category to the users log
in page as suggested reading?
