If perhaps a bike ride would help (?), may we offer...

Departing California Donuts #21 at 9pm
It is a weird time right now. And, by weird, I of course mean frustrating. And, by frustrating, I of course mean infuriating. Heavy sigh. Followed by several more heavy sighs. On the upside, we are rapidly depleting our planet's resources, so these problems may all be rather short-lived. Yay!?
Let's ride bikes.
This month, specifically, let's have a lil rerun of
Passage #464 - Overshoot. Let's distract ourselves from one disaster by refocusing on another. (And, of course, fellowship and such, natch.) Huzzah!
-
Here's how Nathan described it the first time around, a little more than six years ago:
Happy Overshoot Day! As of August 1, 2018, the people of Earth have
consumed all of this year's ecological resources. That is to say, our
collective ecological footprint has exceeded the biocapacity of the
planet for the entire calendar year, which means... well, yeah, it's one
of those awkward UN metrics that nobody really feels in their gut, but
which is supposed to make you think critically about how we (as a
society) and you (personally) use more than is really necessary. So
think about that for a little bit.
...
Are you done? O.K.! Now are you going to do anything about it? Well, heh, you don't have to if you don't want to, but we do have a suggestion: there is a bicycle ride going on, starting in, like, 10 minutes. Maybe you should do that?
(~30 miles; a hill or three)
