With a couple of messages posted recently and 2 new member applications I wonder if we could revive something here? Surely it's worth trying. So much has happened to me that I have had neither the time nor the inclination to visit the site. Two big things last year for me. Some of you know that , in the distant past I was a member of a folk group and we were big in our own area. Last September was the 50th anniversary of the founding of the group and the folk club. Since we were all alive, and all over 70, we risked booking the original venue and got together to see if we still 'had it'. Pete now lives near London but visits his daughter in the Lakes and we managed 4 rehearsals. Could we sell any tickets? We sold them all and what a wonderful feeling it was to see a packed room full of faces that still looked familiar ........... but older. After that I went into hospital for an operation on my spine and all went well. I am still improving after that but can't walk far. I have even found my way back to Flog It! My friend in the group told me that Flog It! was filming at a local auction house so I went along ............... and there was Mike Caine (cameraman) calling out to me and I got my first big hug. Then Paul arrived and shouted at me down the lobby. He looked just the same as he used to ........ gorgeous. So look out for the shows from Morecambe because I'm definitely in it because, without knowing it, I managed to buy not only one but TWO Flog It! items and I had to sign one of their pieces of paper to give them permission to use the footage of me bidding. I'm going to stop now because I might be talking to no one. If you want to hear more just ask.
