Ok so is Faraday really dead?
Lots are wondering.... and as we've seen many times on LOST they like
to trick us and make us think someone is dead and then they come back
a few episodes later.

Dunno if anyone has seen this video from Comic Con 2008:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdWLYVRiin8

In the video (which looks to be taken in Chang's Dharma home and in
1977) a frantic Pierre Chang is pleading with the viewer to get the
Dharma Initiative up and going and back to the island. The thing is,
you do not actually see the videographer, but the voice sounds like
Daniel Faraday. So somehow at some point Faraday convinces Chang about
everything...he's from the future, the swan, the incident, the purge
etc.
But the question is when did they make this video.
Either:
1. Daniel somehow goes to Pierre Chang's house in between the Orchid &
Sawyers house.
2. He does this all in another time iteration.
3. He is still alive and they make this video at some point after his
mother shoots him.

The other question is.... Is the Comic Con 2008 video considered (or
will it be considered) canon to the regular lost story line. I think
there are past comic con videos/pieces ended up being canon.

Also.... tying in with this....
I believe that Ilana, Bram and crew (from Ajira Flight 316) are a new
third fraction and are a new generation of Dharma.
Reasons why I think this:
1. If indeed the Comic Con video is canon, then they would be the
response to Chang's video plea for help
2. They have a code riddle "What lies in the shadow of the statue?"
And we've seen Dharma before use such riddles in the past: "What did
one snowman say to the other?"...Both Kelvin & Desmond (in the hatch)
ask this question after asking "Are you him?"
3. We remember that Bram (back on the main land) kidnaps Miles into
the van and tries to get him to join with them (but we don't know who
they are and he doesn't tell them.) We know that they don't work for
Whidmore and it probably isn't Ben. But he does ask Miles "What lies
in the shadow of the statue? He says to Miles that if he comes with
them he will discover answers about many things, including what
happened to his father. Then he tells Miles he is on the wrong side.
When Miles asks what side he is on Bram replies the side that is
"gonna win."

I think that these are either new Dharma recruits of a new
generation....or possibly descents from previous Dharma members, which
is part of the reason why they would want Miles to come with them.
Either that or a mix of both.

Also interesting that the whole spin for LOST at the 2008 Comic Con
was the whole "recruiting of Dharma members."
Why would they be recruiting Dharma members?
We all may have thought oh just b/c we had been introduced and shown
more about Dharma in the show, what a cool novel idea for the comic
con theme.
But what if it has to do with the actual story line.....?
Dharma needs to reconstitute and go back to the island (to save the
original Dharma people)!

Also....still trying to figure out exactly if old Eleanor really knew
that she was going to shoot Faraday or not. Or if Faraday actually
knew this in going back to the island. It was interesting how he went
in there waving a gun, considering he wasn't much of a fighter, but a
scientist. But maybe he took a gun b/c he knew his mother was going to
try to shoot him already. Either way Eleanor knew he had to go back to
fulfill destiny, and so did Faraday (?).
Slightly confused about all that, but hopefully they might fill in a
few gaps by showing Faraday at Ann Arbor or something at some point.

Let's see what the show brings tonight! :)
