Could it be that Richard saves Ben by bringing him back in time? Maybe
even to the point of his infancy, before he's able to remember
anything about his life, Dharma, etc., and then Ben is raised by the
Others (w/ Eloise and Widmore)? This would take care of Ben not
remembering anything, and him being an Other forever... but what about
Richard saying he'll lose his innocence??? Maybe Ben will only go back
in his mind (like Daniel's girlfriend in a coma)? But that wouldn't
prevent his blood-loss dilemma. Whatever happened to Locke and Rose
when they came to the Island (curing their respective problems), and
Locke again when he returned dead and woke up alive, could be what is
about to happen to young Ben? Richard isn't just going to stop the
bleeding. Does this also mean Juliet knows exactly what Richard is
going to do and just isn't saying?

Considering how strong everyone except Jack (and Sawyer, before Juliet
got to him, which is interesting) feels about saving Ben, it makes
sense that Sayid might be meeting his maker somewhat soon, no? He had
his reasons, for sure, but you can't shoot a kid and get away with it.
Sayid has killed many times, often with strong motives and good
intentions (he's a "killer," but always acts for reasons he believes
to be selfless), but I don't see him escaping clean, except to accept
what he's done and pay the consequences. Sucks, because I really like
Sayid. But of course on the Island death is seemingly not really
death...

I was thinking the Black Smoke would do something to him, considering that it "changes" people. I also was guessing it'd be the BS the judged him next week as they say...? maybe? Also, since he does get back to the camp to help the others take it out, I doubt he'd be doing any time travel. If it is the black smoke it could prob just pick out certain memories, enough so he remembers wanting to leave dharma, meeting Richard and hating his father.

had thought maybe this is the end of Dharma now, like he goes back to the camp and they take it down now, but since 1/2 the stations aren't built yet, that couldn't be right...

It's interesting how they reversed jack and sawyers roles, as I found myself pissed at Jack for what I believe is the first time, lol. As much as I would have wanted to just let him die, since he was a kid I wouldn't be able to just kick back like that. Altho, I did wonder if he just said "fuck it, the island will save him regardless..."

What you say about Sayid makes sense to me, and if they offed him it would suck. But they'd just have him in a flash back, or forward, or time travel back...or forward, lol.

what do I know tho, imma lillte lit anyway...

Yeah, you're right, the smoke monster will definitely have something to do with saving little Ben (especially since where Richard goes is the lair, right?). I can see erasing memory, but what about curing a bullet wound? That's why I was thinking time. Hopefully there's no "magic" or whatever involved.

I think the end of Dharma is supposed to come in 1992, with the Purge: http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/The_Purge

Well, "magic" has been involved since day one, if we're just going by the definition of people getting unexplainably cured of their uncurable ailments. Locke alone has been shot, crippled and strangled to death but he's still doing his thang. Rose had cancer. Sun couldn't have kids. So magic really isn't anything new on this show. It's no crazier a theory than going back in time or smoke monsters.

True, but I'm just hoping the magician's (the Island's) secrets are more science-based, and that the workings of these "tricks" can and will be revealed. Like there's a hard reason/explanation for all of those things you mentioned happening, and they're not just miracles. But then again I doubt they would or could break everything down. No matter how cool the answers are, there's bound to be a let down.

You're more optimistic than me. Bringing someone back from the dead -- that's a pretty hard one to explain.
