Something I have been wodering about......
Where is Claire? Is Claire dead? Is she somewhere alive on the Island?
So there is a theory that Claire in fact is DEAD and did NOT survive
the her house blowing up (during Kermy & co.'s attack on the
barracks).
This is is taken from another post on another website that I was
reading:
CLAIRE: What's going on?
LOCKE: Claire?
SAWYER: You all right, sweetheart?
CLAIRE: Yeah, a bit wobbly, but, uh, I'll live.
MILES: Well, I wouldn't be too sure about that. (The Shape of Things
To Come)
What wouldn’t you be sure about Miles? What are you implying or
inferring? Could our sweet sweet Claire already be lost? Did claire
die in the explosion? Indeed, she died, just not in the sense of death
we have become very familiar with, as our oh oh so clever Darlton have
coined. For years Darlton have implied, “Dead can have several
meanings, what do you mean?” Well, I am beginning to allign my
thinking to that of Darlton.
Notice, in “Something nice back home” Miles repeatedly looks at Claire
intrigued. To a superficial mind, like that of Sawyer, you think he is
checking out her good looks. If you had the abilities of Miles would
you not look the same way at a walking talking corpse?
In the jungle,
SAWYER: How's your head?
CLAIRE: It's better. Bit of a headache, but at least I'm not seeing
things anymore.
MILES: Yeah? What'd you see?
SAWYER: Back off, Donger. (Something Nice Back Home)
What would a person who is dead on the island see?
It makes sense that Claire would be dead b/c she appears to
people....Kate.

I like this theory. Reminds me of my favorite Twilight Zone episode, The Hitch-Hiker -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hitch-Hiker_(The_Twilight_Zone) -- about a girl who gets stuck in her car on train tracks and almost gets hit, and then afterward keeps seeing this guy trying to hitch a ride, and no matter how far she drives, he's always there ahead of her. Turns out he's actually death (or something), and she did indeed die on the tracks...
