Hi,

Wondering if anyone got the socket adapter samples in the link below
working.

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_sock.htm.
The link has two use cases
5.5.1 Oracle Socket Adapter Hello World & 5.5.2 Flight Information
Display System.

I am currently working the section 5.5.1Oracle Socket Adapter Hello
World. I have been able to complete this section in JDeveloper.

I am have the following issues with the above use case as I have not
been able to complete the sections below:

5.3.4.1 Configuring Oracle Socket Adapter Connection Pooling. This
section talks about setting the KeepAlive property for the Socket
Adapter to true. In my case even though I set it to true and save, the
save appears to go through ok, the value for KeepAlive is not set to
true.

5.4.4 Specifying a TCP Port in a Configuration Plan For an Oracle
Socket Adapter. This has a few xml fragments that need to be added in
the JDeveloper, but does not say where exactly these fragments are to
be added.

I am using SOA Suite 11.1.1.5.0

Any help with configuring the Socket Adapters (inbound & outbound),
JNDI lookup config, connection pool config etc. (specifically what
needs to done in the Server Console) is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hema.

After you change the keep alive setting (with focus still in the value field), hit the enter key. Then click save.

I can't speak to the other issue, but I would assume it's similar to setting web service endpoints in your config plan. We had to abandon the usage of socket adapters prior to deploying, because we found out that they were not supported in a clustered environment. Wound up wrapping the socket connection with an async web service (generic JEE web app), which can then be invoked from a soa composite.
