Did you know that amongst Oasis fans with kids that is highly common to have a few Liam and Noels in the bunch? Not shocking since Oasis fans are about the most passionate fans out there. Nor is not common for fans to have named there pets under an Oasisy influence. I have know of a dog named Lyla and a cat named Liam! Here are a few Oasis "names" to get you started if your market for a baby/pet name.
Elsa: From Supersonic. Meaning: Variant of Elizabeth. My God is bountiful;God of plenty.
Digsy: From Digsy's Dinner. Not a "real" name. If you have a cat thats a bit off and likes to eat, it might fit :)
Sifter: From Shakermaker. As in Mister Sifter. Again a good pet name, thou if you like weird "my mother is Demi Moore" Hollywood type names you might consider this as cool girl's name.
Sally: From Don't look Back in Anger. Meaning: Princess. Pretty name, if you can refrain from singing "SOOOO SALLY CAN WAIT!!" at your child every time you see you them, the would make a lovely name.
Avaline: From Bonehead Bank Holiday. Meaning: Nut. Yes you read that right, this name could possible be as bad actually naming to your baby "Bonehead".
Ernie: From Round Are Way, Meaning: A diminutive of Ernest sometimes used as an independent name. Also, in England, 'Ernie' refers to the Electronic Random Number Indicator Equipment which selects winning Premium Bond numbers.
James: From Little James. Meaning: Supplant. Replace. Variant of Jacob derived from the latin Jacomus.
Tarzan: From Hung in a Bad Place. Great dog name, or monkey.
Lyla: From song of the same name. Meaning: Feminine of Lyle: from the island. Variant of Delilah. Very pretty girl name.
Abel: From Guess God Thinks I am Abel. Meaning: Breath; son; breathing spirit. In the Old Testament, Abel was the son of Adam and Eve who was killed by his brother Cain in a fit of jealousy. The meaning explains a lot right?
Liam: Meaning: The name Liam comes from the Gaelic origin. In Gaelic The meaning of the name Liam is: Helmeted. Or in words "A extremely cool, sweet rock n roll star with a great head of hair"!
Noel: Meaning: Christmas. Or "highly witty, charming, blue eyed good looking songwriter"
You can also go deeper into previous band members and present band members Andy is a great name, thou Gem might provide some difficult if your child is not a rock star, though it would make a good pet name. If you have any ideas please comment!
