The Oasis Fan Guide caught up with Ginna webmaster of
Oaspace &
OasisWeb . She is deciated and hard working Oasis fan and she's only 20! I asked her a few questions...
You are so young! How did you get into Oasis?Well, I got into oasis late in the game. I have only really been a hardcore fan since 2006! How I got into them was sort of a lucky fluke. My sister, Jackie, and dad went to England back in 2006. Jackie took note of various songs and bands that came on MTV over there. When she got back she started downloading the songs and sent me a couple. One of them on the list was the Importance of being Idle. I really liked it and so I asked her if she had any more oasis. She sent me a couple other tunes, but not many. I liked them as well and decided to go on a search of my own. I downloaded a large number of their songs and loved everyone. It was a refreshing change of pace from the nickleback and kanye west that I had been used to hearing. Eventually I bought all of their albums, the rest is history! What made you want to start a website? My love for the band is ultimately what made me want to start a website. I am a graphic design student currently, and since I was a freshman in high school (so 13 years old) I was into web design. I decided that all of my obsessive research about the band should be put to good use, so I gathered it all to make oasisweb.net. Another main reason why I was inspired to create oasisweb is because it allows me meet other fans, which I LOVE!You are the brain child of Oaspace, its really growing how do you feel about it?I am really happy about the success of Oaspace so far. It is great to see people posting and talking to each other. I am proud to see that I am bringing together people from across the world, it is pretty exciting. I had been toying with the notion of creating a network for a while and I am glad that I finally got around to it. At first, I didnt really see people embracing it. The feedback was positive but also kind of negative. People kept comparing it to forums, saying that it was not as easy to navigate. What they need to know is that Oaspace is its own thing entirely. I think once people realize that it will really take off. It is not as big and popular as I would have hoped, but maybe I need to just give it some time. I would love to see it skyrocket!Anything you are planning to add in the future to Oaspace or your website?I have a lot of ideas floating around- and I have some things in the works....but if I told you I'd have to kill you. Also, always welcome for any input and site donations if people have anything to contribute. What is your fave oasis song and why?My favorite Oasis song...that is tough. I really like a lot of them but if I had to choose.....maybe don't look back in anger- my reason for this would be musically. There are some songs that I really enjoy for the lyrics such as stop crying your heart out, cast no shadow, etc...favorite song varies though depending on my mood.Fave member?Noel Gallagher. I love them all but Noel is my favorite by far. What did you think of you first Oasis gig?First Gig was AMAZING! It was my first and only so far. December 20,2008 at the Patriot center. It was surreal. The crowd could have been rowdier tho..i could have gone for some chaos.
Have you converted any of your friends?I have converted my mom 1000%. She is great and is always up for new songs. I told her that I was into oasis, and she was like 'burn me a mix of your favorites'. I did, and she listened to it thoroughly, giving me feedback on all the songs. She memorized every one, and to this day is asking me for more mixes. I have made her 5 and bought her 3 CDs. She went to the concert with me and was rocking out harder then anyone around- even me! She is my closest oasis bud by far.Any advice for young Oasis fans?Go crazy and dont let non-fans sway you. Being from america there are a lot of non-fans and people that have never heard of oasis. forget them and do your own thing!Go crazy and dont let non-fans sway you. Being from america there are a lot of non-fans and people that have never heard of oasis. forget them and do your own thing!
