The Beatles comparison with Oasis through the years can not be counted on one hand. Time after time we hear journalists comparing Oasis to the Beatles. Which there is no contest either way, Oasis are Oasis and the Beatles the Beatles. My feeling is that most of this stems from a one comment our dear Noel said mid-90's “ If you don’t want to be bigger than the Beatles, its just a hobby” which makes a lot of sense and is not ignorance as some journalists would like you and the public to think. The Beatles are the absolute pinnacle of success and legend so why bother if you don’t want to try to bigger or as bigger the Beatles? Noel’s right its just a hobby then. But the comparisons will never cease and its doesn’t help that Oasis themselves tend to urge it on. Here are some examples of Oasis being “beatley” :

The cover of the Live Forever single is John Lennon’s Aunt Mimi’s house

Oasis as covered serval Beatles tunes..I am the Walrus, Help!, You’ve Got to Hid Your Love Away, Strawberry Fields Forever, With in Without you, Tomorrow Never Knows, and I am Only Sleeping.

At the end of The Turning, Dear Prudence can be heard.

Don’t Look Back in Anger has the beginning of Imagine at the beginning.

Liam named his son Lennon.

Liam and Noel used to wear a lot of Lennon sunglasses

Liam once called George Harrison a nipple in 1998

Oasis’ former drummer Zak Starkey’s father was ACTUALLY A BEATLE.

Noel was in a band with Paul Weller and Paul McCartney called The Smokin Mojo Filters and recorded only one song “Come Together”.

There are early photos of Oasis sitting on the Imagine symbol in Central Park.

In their recent video for Falling Down, Oasis were dressed up in Beatle like suits to meet the Queen.

I’m Outta Time has a John Lennon quote right the middle of it.

“Gonna start a revolution from my bed” in Don’t Look Back in Anger refers to John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s Bed in in the 1960's.

Born on a Different Cloud’s line “Classless, clever and free” comes from the John Lennon song Working Class Hero.

The cover of the Don’t Look Back in Anger single has a white piano, which refers to John Lennon’s Imagine piano.

Oasis has worked twice in Abbey Road to record some Be Here Now and all of Dig out Your Soul.

This is just a few I could think off the top on my head, please post anything you think of in the comment box!
