The L.A. Times reports that
Obama's approval rating is dropping faster than any president's except Ford and Clinton, at least since Gallup starting tracking it. The paper uploaded
this handy graph to illustrate:
Some folks have pointed to Clinton's second term as proof that a president can fall through the floor, fast, without losing control of the White House. And while that may be true, Obama is not Clinton. The latter was a smart politician who knew how to read the prevailing winds and adjust accordingly. Obama deliberately ran on a Messiah platform, and packages his policies as sacred crusades against the forces of darkness. It's tough to shift position when you've loudly declared it holy ground.
