Speakathon 4/30 Fri.

Dear Members of The New Voice,

 

This coming Friday (April 30th) at 6:30pm at New York Life Insurance Co. we have "area speakathon". Sandra Yoshida and I organize this event to give members in Division D an extra opportunity to work on their speaking skills by delivering speeches or evaluations in front of a different group of people as well as meeting new toastmaster friends. This event will be similar to a regular meeting, except that we will have several speeches and no table topics. At the end of the meeting we will have area council meeting - where everyone is invited to share toastmaster ideas/experiences.

 

Members from several clubs in Division D will be at the meeting. We already confirmed 2 speaker from TNV (yay!!! - Bryan Sanchinell and Irina Fadeyeva), 2 speakers from Mad Toasters,  3 speakers from New York Toastmasters  and encourage more members to volunteer to take roles. The deadline is Wednesday, 4/28 - RSVP to syosh...@hotmail.com if you plan to attend either the Speakathon and/or Area Council meeting. Please indicate if and what role you are interested in - we still have speaker, evaluator and other slots open.

I am pleased to announce that we have confirmed the meeting location for the Area 44 Speakathon and Area Council meeting next Friday at 6:30pm. The meeting location will be kindly hosted by MAD Toasters.

Please RSVP by Wednesday, 4/28 to syosh...@hotmail.com if you plan to attend either the Speakathon and/or Area Council meeting. We will need to provide your names to security in advance. Please include any roles you may be interested in for the Speakathon.  
 
Please pass this on to any members who would be interested in being a Speaker, an Evaluator, or attending the meeting. It is an opportunity for members to deliver speeches in front of members of different clubs, get one step closer towards achieving their educational goals (including CL), and a chance to meet great Toastmasters members in your area.
 
The Speakathon will be followed by an Area Council meeting. All members are welcome, and we invite you to share your ideas and concerns for your club.
 
We would like to encourage camaraderie between the clubs in Area 44, and introduce our guests with information on each club (i.e., club name, interesting facts or history you would like us to share on your club). Please send information on your club if you would like us to use it for the meeting.
