Thanks to all who came to the meeting on Friday night! We are looking forward to this week's area contest (Friday, March 19), in which club members Teresa Michaels and Bryan Sanchinell will be competing. Look for an email later this week on the location and other details.

In the meantime, here are a few announcements related our club...

Mentoring Program

The New Voice is starting a mentoring program to help members further develop their communication abilities and get oriented to the club.

- Need help crafting your first or next speech?

- Want some extra feedback and encouragement from someone who knows your strengths, challenges and personal goals?

- Would you like some guidance as you get oriented to The New Voice?

--> If so, sign up to be a mentee!

- Are you a good listener?

- Do you like to encourage and motivate others?

- Would you like to get to know a fellow member better so as to provide the help and feedback they could really use?

--> If so, sign up to be a mentor!

New Voice members can be both mentors and mentees (and you can be both at the same time). There are no requirements for being a mentor or mentee, other than willingness.

To sign up for either role, email Rick Sanford, rick.sa...@gmail.com with the role request and if you have a preference for a specific mentor or mentee. Mentor-mentee pairings will be announced prior to the March 26 meeting, as well as training instructions for mentors.

Dear Friend of The New Voice,

As you know, one of the clubs in our area - Mad Toasters - has been hosting a series of speakathons to give members an opportunity to finish their communication skills by the end of June. I would like to thank those of you who have attended and took roles over the last couple of months! We apprecite your support!

The final speakathon for this Toastmaster year is this Friday June 25 at 6pm. It is a great way to meet fellow Toastmasters from other clubs and say 'hi' to our friends from New York Toastmasters :-).

Plus, you can help others and practice your speaking skills by taking an evaluator role as we are in need of evaluators. Please contact the meeting organizer, Khalil A. Haddad (kaha...@gmail.com) for more information and to RSVP.

Dear Fellow Toastmasters,

It was a pleasure to serve The New Voice as area governors over the last 9 months. As of June 30th, our term is officially over and Sandra and I are happy to introduce our incoming area governor - Andy Lewis

We  have met Andy at officer training a couple of weeks ago and are very excited to know that our club will be in such good hands. Andy has been with Toastmasters for several years and have achieved Advance Communicator Silver and Competent Leadership awards. I am confident he will provide us with the support and leadership to help us have another successful and fun year.  Please add Andy to our distribution list as I know he is planning to visit our club soon. Andy Lewis adl...@gmail.com

Andy's term officially starts as of July 1st and the next couple of weeks are the transition time - so feel free to contact all of us (Andy, Sandra and me) if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Irina Fadeyeva
Sandra Yoshida
