Our Guest Speaker on Wed Sept 30 will be Donise L. Hardy. Donise began her industry career as an actor in San Francisco ! After several years, she became a talent agent working for an agency specializing in children. While an agent, she discovered Ross Malinger ("Sleepless in Seattle " and several TV series) and Taran Noah Smith ("Mark" on "Home Improvement"). She began her casting career by opening a company called "EXTRA! EXTRA!" in 1988. She began her principal casting career in 1991. After 3 years in that market she then established her company in Los Angeles for 6 years prior to moving to Austin in 1999 where she enjoyed 8 years as one of the busiest casting directors in Texas. Donise has cast hundreds of commercials and dozens of films and industrials during her 18 year career. Throughout her career, Donise has taught classes, specializing in commercial audition technique. Her classes are in high demand and are recommended by agents and coaches throughout the state.
While working in the Texas market, Donise was one of the founders of the Alliance Austin of which she is past president, a member of TXMPA and Reel Women plus an active member of the Core Group of the Network Austin Mixer. After a 2-year retirement, Donise has opened a new company, A CASTING PLACE, serving Dallas and Houston, and will open the Austin office in July, 2010. Always active in the business, she is currently casting a SAG feature film, "A MIND OF ITS OWN" in both Los Angeles and Dallas and just completed casting a SAG Industrial in Los Angeles. So join us on Wednesday Sept 30, learn from a true pro and benefit from Donise’s special insights into the casting process.
