LANUG Thursday June 9th Meeting

About the Speaker: Tom DuPont lives in Dallas, Texas, where he is the Vice President of CodeSmith Tools, LLC. But don’t let the title fool you, Tom is a total code monkey! He specializes in .NET development with C#, ASP.NET MVC, and even that crazy JavaScript stuff. Tom has a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas. In his spare time Tom enjoys long rides across the country on his motorcycle. Session Abstract: Generate Your Code!
Code generation is a powerful practice that allows you produce higher-quality, more consistent code in less time. This helps remove the mundane and repetitive parts of programming, allowing developers to focus their efforts on more important tasks, and saving companies time and money. Code generation enables you to efficiently: Reduce repetitive coding, generate code in less time with fewer bugs, and produce consistent code that adheres to your standards.

So it is looking like June is a great month for our community this year. SQL Saturday was great and we have to great speakers and community supporters coming to speak.

I have had about 20 RSVPs for our meeting on Thursday June 9th so far, and have heard from people at SQL Saturday #77 in Pensacola, FL that more are interested. So I have put together a flyer for our next couple of meetings. If you have seen the flyer at SQL Saturday notice the change for our 2nd meeting in June. Please post these flyers at the schools you attend or at your office and pass a long to as many people that you can.

If you haven't RSVP-ed please let me know that you plan to attend on June 9th. I want to be able to give our Speaker a heads-up on how many people to expect.

  • Thursday, June 9th: Tom DuPont - Generate Your Code!
  • Thursday, June 23rd: Doug Turnure - Inside the Sausage Factory – a look at how Microsoft’s Developer Division operates

Thank you,
Ryan Duclos
