Pensacola is having an Ignite! This is gonna be awesome! (RSVP: http://IgnitePensacola.EventBrite.com)

Imagine having a few drinks, socializing with fellow geeks, and hearing the 18 most innovative ideas your community has to offer in just a few hours on a Tuesday night. Yeah, that’s an Ignite.

The first ever Ignite Pensacola is going to happen during Global Ignite Week on February 8th at 6:30PM, making Pensacola part of a worldwide event taking place in over 50 cities across 6 continents and streaming live to the web.

What is Ignite? Ignite, at its core, is a series of 5 minute talks where speakers are constrained to a presentation consisting of 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds. This provides an exciting and entertaining format where speakers “enlighten us, but make it quick.”

What is Ignite Pensacola? Ignite Pensacola is a way for our community to reach out and connect to its members, explore new ideas, and inspire the creative thinking process. It gives citizens a way to connect with topics outside of the norm and provides a platform for people with great ideas who might not otherwise share them. All of this, combined with the power of the Global Ignite Network, gives Pensacola’s collective thought process a new presence that spans the entire globe.

Speakers, we’re looking for you!

We’re still in the process of taking speaker submissions and any topic is fair game. If you have something to share and can do it in exactly 5 minutes please contact us. As well as reaching out to the community with your idea, all Ignite talks are video recorded and archived on the web. The best videos will make it onto the Igniteshow site.

Man this is really cool! How can I be a part of Ignite Pensacola?

We’re glad you asked! Ignite Pensacola is a non-profit community based event. Everyone working to make Ignite happen has volunteered their time and talents. If you would like to be part of the team or contribute in some way shoot us an email and we’ll put you to work.

We’re very excited to announce that AppRiver has joined the Ignite Pensacola event as a sponsor. If you are interested in learning more about sponsorship opportunities please send us an email and we’ll fill you in.

Thank you,
