"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus our Lord."
You can work for sin but it is a cruel master. When it pays you off,
its wage is death-seperation from God forever. In stark contrast, God
does not pay wages. He has a free gift to offer-eternal life. There
is nothing that one can do to earn this gift. If one could earn it,
it would not be a gift; it would be wages. Eternal life is just that-
eternal-it never ceases. The basic concept underlying life is union.
There are three kinds of life mentioned in the Bible: 1. physical
life-union of the soul with the body; 2. spiritiual life-union of the
soul with God; 3. eternal life-eternal union of the soul with God.
Jesus said, "My sheep hear My voice... And I give them eternal life;
and they shall never perish" The gift of God is eternal life. One
receives this gift when he belives in Jesus as his own personal
Savior. Having eternal life, he will never perish.
To receive this eternal life just pray this prayer, or one like it...
Dear Lord, I admit that I am a sinner. Please forgive me for my
sins. I accept the blood of Jesus for payment of my sin. Fill me
with the Holy Spirit and give me eternal life.
