I notice that the version posted here is more recent than the Apress
one.
What's the best way to get a dead tree copy of a recent version of
this book and still compensate the authors? Am I missing out on much
if I buy the Apress version?

The online version is the latest, Derek does a bang-up job of spinning
new versions.
Maybe we should set up a Plegie account, like liftweb proper.
