Hello,
Background to the link below:
Baron Layard is a retired Professor of Economics. I have many texts by economists Prof Willem Buiter & Sam Brittan & Martin Wolf & …., which offer strong critiques of his position.

& Baron Layard persuaded Tony Blair that well known lawyer-manqué and former Prime Minister, to implement his ideas that 10 sessions of cbt would get all the UK’s work refuseniks back in gainful employment. This was strongly argued against from 2007 and has not made the slightest difference - see Julia Evans’ response to Public Health England (a UK Government Department)’s survey on ‘Healthcare Professionals: Work as a Health Outcome’ by Julia Evans on March 10, 2018 or here http://www.lacanianworks.net/?p=12196

This was sent to Dr Sarah Wollaston MP, Chair of the Health and Social Care Committee. A receipt was received on 12th March 2018 at 18:17 which confirms that this text will be dealt with as soon as possible. A response from Dr Sarah Wollaston was received on 18th April 2018. Quote from the letter : I understand that this survey has now been de-activated. However, The Health and Social Care Committee would not have the power to ‘remove’ a survey being run by the Department of Health and Social Care or one of its arm’s length bodies, such as Public Health England. The Committee exists to scrutinise the policy, administration and expenditure of the Department of Health and its arm’s length bodies. …. Again, we have no formal powers to change the policies of bodies like Public Health England as a result of our work. …. End quote.

Government’s must stop interfering directly into their subject’s mental health & human relationships - I suppose this means your relationship to any pet you may have is excluded from Government attention….  JE

Can Government Policies Make Us Happier?

World happiness expert Richard Layard explains why policymakers need to focus on improving mental health and human relationships, not just the economy.

The World Happiness Report has been published every year since 2012, giving countries important data about the well-being of their people and how it compares to other nations’. One of the primary proponents and editors of the report is renowned economist Baron Richard Layard of the London School of Economics.
