Black Mass is a film about an infamous underground Boston Mobster named Whitey Bulger. There have been rumors from prison that Whitey is very upset about his portrayal in the film. I would be pissed too if the world got a front row seat to my underground organized crime activities. I have ye to see the film, but can’t wait for my next date night with Rebecca to eat some greased Checkers fries, Cheeseburgers, and skip over to the local cinema for some innocent indulgence on cinematic murder and deceptions from an Irish Bostonian!
The title of the film originated from the black tooth for which Whitey is known. While Hollywood ignorantly presents Black mass as hinting to the perversion of Catholic tradition and interpretation, a true Bostonian knows it refers to Whitey’s dead front tooth with was numb at the root of the nerve. Whitey’s oral hygiene was about as nonexistent as Ron’s ability to proactively manage his team roster (See Reggie Wayne), or numb as Moutoux ability to get in front of a computer and add some sort of life to the dialogue of our fantasy league.
Anyway… I digress….
Organized Crime was truly a huge portion of American history as many immigrants found it hard to find justification and fair treatment in a country that was green in its rules and legislations and ripe in its offering for monetary gain without significant consequence or backlash form a weak government. This week’s dirty dozen is dedicated to the Wise guys who contributed to the lavish stories and mysteries of America’s “Organized Crime”. In the same way these men found ways to advance themselves in an every changing American landscape, so these following Fantasy contributors will change the way we see Week 4 and beyond =)
#1 Tyrod Taylor
Tyrod is a pure surprise adding deceptions and fear in the opponents he faces. I was so high on Taylor that I bid 253 while a low auction budget already possessing 2 QB’s on the bench! Taylor will be the future Buffalo and the hope of Rex Ryan reputation moving forward. (Prediction 180 yards passing, 50 rushing, 3 TDs).
#2 Cam Newton
Matt Cella sure had a good laugh when blasting Cam Newton earlier this month as a weak trade chip. Of course Newton would never have the same value as Julio Jones, but there is a lot to say for a proven QB in a league that is THIRSTY at this position and new QB injuries occurring on a weekly basis. (Side Note) How is the Bradford/Foles combo working out for you Mr. Cella, would you like Newton now?? =) Cam has proven to surprise the critics and rise to the top of the NFL Fantasy QB top 5. This rise has been proven to be authentic by the multiple trade opportunities that came my way this week for this “horrible” trade chip, backup QB option. Sorry Cella, I had to get on the soapbox on this one.
Jeff….. Julio for Cam? ………….. J/K …. I’d rather keep Cam at this point
Prediction: (230 passing yards, 50 rushing, 4 total TD).
#3 RB Latavius Murray
Seth… when you chose him as your keeper at the party in August my stomach cringed. I loved this guy as an up and riser and I am happy to see he is finally getting some love in the fantasy world. The Raiders are back on track to becoming the Black and Silver again and Muarray will be a big part of that journey. (Prediction: 185 rushing yards, 2 Tds)
#4 RB Jonathan Stewart
Poor Johnny… always hurt or sharing carrys with DeAngelo. Well, D Williams is in Pitt and Johnny has a beautiful matchup this week with a weak TB D. I want Stewart to finally succeed as I’m sure he is frustrated by the situation he has found himself between injuries and opportunities. Stewart is one of those guys that has star quality but always gets the short end of the stick. The short end, however, is not this week. (Prediction: 145 Rushing yards, 2 Tds).
#5 RB Frank Gore
While going hard after Mr Cella with Cam Newton, I must praise the man for his ability to manage Frank Gore. I love Frank and I see so much upside this weak with his matchup against a hurting Jacksonville D. Cella, I am happy that you get to enjoy the success of this veteran back. The Colts are a team looking to gel….. and when they do, Good bye NFL! Franky will have his share in the pillaging and Cella will be the beneficiary. (Pred: 175 yards, 30 rec. 2 TDs).
#6 RB Justin Forsett
This is the week. Yes …. This is the week! Justin Forsett will finally reward Jeff Jones. Justin has been about as frustrating as buying a delicious hot dog at the county fair, loading it up with mustard, relish, onions, and ketchup, only to watch that little pork weiner slip out of the bun and find a new home in the muddy tire ruts of the dirt road below. I believe Forsett NEEDS to come through or he is done. With this urgency, I believe he will show up and restore faith back in his owners. (Pred: 155 yards, 3 Tds).
#7 RB Doug Martin
This is the week I finally put my money where my mouth is. I have been chatting with Bob about how much I believe in Martin. I have had numerous convos with Cella about how Martin’s stat in his rookie year were inflated due to matchup issues and garbage time. I agree with Cella, and hope that Martin is indeed a solid back in spite of all the contradicting information that he is just mediocre. Like Forsett, This is the week I am putting all my chips on Martin. Come through Dougie!!!!! Come through! (Prediction 140 rushing, 45 receving, 2 TDs).
#8 WR Amari Cooper
The Raiders are the hot girl at the swimming pool who recently got contacts, shed the glasses, lost 50 pounds, and found a way to straighten her curly hair she was genetically cursed with form her Jewish parents. I am cautiously in love with them. I love Carr( So does Jeff ) and I love Amari. I am going in on Amari this week as showing up big against a depleted Chicago organization (Again, sorry Jeff). (Pred 140 yards, 1 Td).
#9 WR Michael Crabtree
YEA! You see it right…. Two Oakland Wide outs in the Dirty Dozen. Crabtree and Cooper will join up to stomp the Bears and make a name for themselves in the fantasy world. When Amari is the focus, Crabtree will scoop up the opportunity and slip into the open slots. Oakland will embarrass the Bears this weak and finally prove to the NFL that they are a force to reckon with and no longer a laughing stock of the NFL.
#10 WR FITZY!!!!!
Oh How I love you… oh how I miss you…. Oh how the Pileggi’s are lucky to have you. Larry Fitz is making his final current call with a healthy Palmer being the general of this offense. Fitz is an awesome talent that has just enough gas left to make a 15’/16’ impression and I love it!
(Pred: 170 yards, 1 Td).
#11 TE Charles Clay
Again, against my internal desires, I must applaud Cella’s ability to sniff out tending talent and grab Clay before everyone else catches one. Clay was a decent TE last year, and in a better situation this year, proves to produce. TE, like QB, a pretty shallow this year, so a grab like Clay will reward Cella for weeks to come. (Pred 80 yards, 1 TD).
#12 “The Risk Pick” Triple Weight (Last Week Derek Carr)
BUUUUUUUUFFFFFFFAAAALLLLLOOOO
Karlos Williams!!! RB (CELLA!).
At this point Cella has Karlos on his bench, but as I predict we will see next week, that is a huge mistake. Williams is a fierce RB who has the potential to put up amazing Fantasy numbers. If you watch this kid, you cannot deny that gut feeling he has star potential. You better believe I would have bet the rest of my auction money on this kid if he was on the waivers. This boy is my risk flyer this week (Pred Rushing 160 yards, 1 Tds).
