With Hurricane Matthew bearing down on the US I felt it was only appropriate to compare the league teams to various natural disasters and other meteorological events.  Also, as a note, I'm basing these rankings mostly on the current overall standings of each team rather than the weekly scoring since most everyone was pretty close this week.

1. Number Two Crew - Earthquake

Like an earthquake tearing through the earth's crust, the Pileggi's have been tearing through the LLL.  Matt and Asher have been putting up over 100 points every week so far and are clearly the league leaders right now.  Tied for the best record but with a solid point lead, they have been dominating their opponents week after week.  This week was a little low for them but was still second best of all teams.  I have confidence that they'll be able to keep pushing out big numbers though the coming weeks on the back of their exceptional RB corps.

2. Front Office Ouroboros - Hurricane

I feel like it's only appropriate that I give myself the hurricane based on the impending storm that's about to hit the coast.  Like a hurricane, I've had some ups and downs, but my team has been proving to be strong and relatively consistent.  However, I've had the least amount of points scored against me all season, so I have yet to see if my team can really hold up when pressured by a high scoring team.  Hopefully I can keep a good record through the bye weeks and keep my team from spiraling down into a tropical storm.

3. Ambassador of Quan - Flood

Jeff's had a bit of bad luck this year, with only a 2-2 record through the first four weeks, but with the second most points scored.  A lot of that has to do with his huge game the first week, but his dominance has petered off a bit since then.  Like a flood he came rushing into the season, but once the water settled he's slowly started to recede.  That being said, the Commish still has a great team that's been putting up great points week by week.  I think once the season plays out a bit more that we'll see him consistently at the top of the standings.

4. Coronal Mass Ejection - Avalanche

Every year Jack's team seems to take people by surprise.  On the surface, it seems like a pretty average team, but he's putting up pretty decent numbers, save for one week.  He's the avalanche that you don't see coming until you're already buried.

5. Calvin's Crushers - Tornado

I think Ron has a great team this year, but he's had a few early struggles against some other good teams, which is reflected in his current record.  Two weeks in a row he has lost by one point.  His team is just waiting for a couple favorable matchups to turn his windstorm into a category 5 tornado.

6. Deangelo I Must Drop Thee - Wildfire

Kevan's team has gone from the Eddy winner in week two with 140 points to the lowest score of the year so far the next week.  It's safe to say that Kevan has some real power on his team, but with Forte and Williams cooling off and Dalton having some pretty average games, it's safe to say that his raging firestorm is sputtering.  He has a fairly favorable matchup against Seth's team this week that should hopefully throw some gasoline on things.

7. Waiting for Superman - Thunderstorm

Thunderstorms are loud and can be scary.  They have potential to do a lot of damage, but more often than not, they're just loud.  Cella had a lightning strike last week with a huge game, but his other weeks have been less than impressive.  Perhaps he can get lightning to strike twice in the coming weeks, but his team's performance so far leaves a lot to be desired.

8. Flash Gordon - Snow Flurries

Image result for flurries

Flurries tend to only be irritating, and some people even look forward to them.  I can only imagine that's how most of Seth's opponents feel when they are matched up against him: like a kid waking up to the first snow of winter.  Despite being 2-2, Seth is essentially tied with Bob for second least amount of points.  His saving grace is that he also has the second least amount of points scored against him.  I expect that will even out over time, and once it does, Seth's team is going to have trouble keeping up.

9. I've Made A Huge Mistake - Slightly too hot day

As Seth before him, Bob's team is mostly just an irritation so far, like a slightly-too-hot day.  Something that a dip in the pool or just plugging in a fan can fix.  Bob is tied for second least amount of points, but his record shows that his team has potential to put up decent numbers.  I think with a couple of good trades or waiver pickups he could turn things around and turn his sunny day into a heat wave.

10. Next.. Man.. Up.. - Gentle Breeze

Playing Drew's team is like a refreshing afternoon breeze.  With several lackluster weeks under his belt, Drew's team is currently at the bottom of the standings.  However, Drew has a penchant for picking up great players off waiver wire, so you never can count him out, especially this early in the season.
