Week 13 Awards

Eddy - Pileggis. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to win another one of these this season. We had taken a turn for the worst and it was all but over. But, for the second straight year, we are saved by a waiver wire pick up of the Raven’s back up RB and a resurging Denver DST vaults us to an Eddy and a 1st round bye. Unfortunately, it may be our last lucky week when we’ll need more scoring in the playoffs - or go home empty handed.

Wait?! We’re Not Playing Golf - Kevan Rich. A few teams scored in the 70’s this week but Kevan was the lowest with 74.6. Are we keeping track of how many times each person has one these awards? I’m guessing Kevan’s team has taken this one home the most this year...

Quad Balls - Jack Scanlan. In a battle for the fewest points against, Jack won 87.3 to 74.6 - the closest margin this week. Kevan still wins the war, however, as he finishes the regular season with 1140.4 total points for.

Tough Luck - Andrew Ridley. Only 4 teams scored over 100 points this week. Drew’s 114.1 points would’ve beaten everyone other than myself, Matt Cella, and the person he played - Ron. You started off naming your team after Luck, now you end with the tough luck award. Doubt it means much though since you ended in 1st place also.

Beat Down - Matt Jacky Pileggi. We nearly doubled-up Seth this week with a ridiculous 145.7 total points to Seth’s mediocre 79.2. However, Seth shouldn’t take it too hard since we ended up with the same record, he still makes the playoffs, and it might be a good thing to have a disappointing showing when the score wasn’t close anyway. Team name and logo to follow.

Poopy Pants - Nobody. I have chosen not to give anyone this award this time around. This is a tough week in fantasy football because it determines who makes the playoffs and who doesn’t. It looks like everyone gave full effort, and this whole season has been really close. There are really only 4 different places: 1st is Drew at 8-4, a four-way tie for 2nd where everyone makes the playoffs, and another four-way tie for 3rd where only Ron makes the cut, and then Jack sitting at the bottom - technically 4th place - at 5-8. Too bad Jack does not play in the NFC East or he’d be tied for 1st place.

This has been a wild season. Kevan, while having the fewest points for, was undefeated for an unprecedentedly long time and, even though he’s tumbled, he held onto a playoff spot. Jeff Jones had a miserable start but winds up tied for 2nd place and 4th overall in points for. And even though he came on strong at the end, Matt Cella ends up missing a playoff berth by a hair. Even though Drew finishes in 1st overall, it’s still anyone’s game going into the playoffs!
