Is there a specific order from easiest to most difficult for going through the deck?  The default card order doesn't seem to be organized by difficulty.

The default order should be from easiest to hardest, the deck should start with 안녕하세요 and 감사합니다. Are you sure you don't have Anki set up to give you new cards randomly?

Thanks so much for a quick reply - you're awesome :).

I figured it out.  Yes, I have it set to new cards in order added.  Sometimes me and Anki don't get along.  The cards were setup in some strange random order - who knows why.  I sorted the cards by creation date.  Luckily this worked.  I think did a reposition and now it's perfect!  Woot!  I really like the deck so far although I just started.  I'm doing this on the side from Japanese so it'll be slow but maybe it'll be useful too.

Sorting just by the created date won't give you the order I intended. There are 7 levels denoted by tags - dif1, dif2, and so on. You should sort all the first level cards by created date, reposition them to start at 1000, then sort all the second level cards and reposition them to start at 2000, and so on for all 7 levels. If you don't do that you'll get cards from different levels mixed together.

I would still like to know what your problem was in order to make sure that there's no problem with the deck itself. I study with the deck myself but I always have to reschedule and reposition all the cards before I share the deck so it's possible that there may be a problem with the deck.

I'll re-organize them as suggested, thanks. I don't know why it was in a random order so I can't say if it was the deck or just my Anki is special. If anything I think it was sorted alphabetically. The first cards started with a "-". The think. It's reorganized now so I can't check on that now.

Resurrecting a dead thread, because this happened to me as well: When I imported this deck into my anki, the "Due" order went through the deck in a basically completely random order.  I'll order my deck the way you suggested, though.

Hello Evita, this is Eleanor.

I have downloaded the Korean Verbs and the Korean Grammar Sentences decks. I am trying to figure out how to get them show in the correct difficulty order that you have created.

I have set my decks to show new cards in the order added. However I am not sure how to reposition my cards as you have instructed above.  You seem to mention here repositioning multiple cards at a time but I'm not sure how to do that.

I am a fairly new Anki user and nervous about mucking up my decks. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

Hi, Eleanor.

If you are afraid of messing up your decks, I suggest creating a new profile in Anki and experimenting there, it won't affect your primary profile.

As for questions regarding Anki, please post them in the Anki support forum: https://forums.ankiweb.net/

I also recommend reading the Anki manual, it contains lots of very useful info.
