Jones Library's FY2015 at a Glance:
* Circulated over 490,000 items from our collection of over 250,000 materials!
* Visited by over 295,000 patrons!
* Hosted over 500 programs which were attended by over 11,500 people!
The mission of The Jones Library, Inc. is to be a community hub to a
diverse population of Amherst residents, where books are celebrated and
all members of the community can enhance their educational, cultural,
and lifelong learning pursuits.
Our staff is dedicated to
providing excellent service, diverse collections, free and equal access
to information, and exciting events.
But…
Fiscal responsibility
has dictated the Trustees reduce the annual amount drawn from the
endowment to ensure long term financial health. This translates into a significant reduction to the operating budget ($40,000 per year!), making your individual gifts today more important than ever.
We
deeply appreciate your support and sincerely hope we can count on you
for an enhanced commitment this year. More than ever, your generosity is
needed to pay for the books, eBooks, audios and DVD’s that our patrons
rely on – which we must purchase to retain state certification.
