Are you a Star Wars fan, but don't have tickets to see the new movie this weekend? Well, join us for Spaceballs, an hilarious spoof on Star Wars, which will be screened on Saturday, December 19th at 2 pm in the Woodbury Room. The film is rated PG. Spaceballs
is a 1987 film that was written and directed by Mel Brooks, in
which a space bum helps rescue a princess from an evil overlord with the
help of a benevolent elder. Lone Starr and his half-man, half-dog
co-pilot, Barf the Mawg, are content to scour the galaxy living the easy
life. But they reluctantly come to the rescue when Druish Princess
Vespa is threatened by the evil Lord Dark Helmet, who wants to steal all
of the air from her planet, Druidia. Although it borrows most of its
plot from the Star Wars series, Spaceballs also pokes fun at Star Trek, Snow White, and Planet of the Apes.v Thanks to the Friends of the Library for making this movie screening possible!
