sad to say, our Islander 29 is for sale. We found a good deal on a
Cal 34, a boat I've had an eye out for years, so the Islander must go.
If anyone knows anyone who might be interested, here's a link to my ad
on Craigslist--

She's a great boat, in solid condition, a bit rough on the interior
but workable and serviceable. Power is a stern mount Honda 15hp 4
stroke-- a very good match, imo.
Thanks, and happy sails,
Paul

Hull numbering pre-1972 was on a 'voluntary' scheme basis so there was no government mandated uniform system. Ah...those were the days!
Our sail numbers are the keys. The very early <100's or so must be about 1966 models. The 2 attached adds from Sept. and Oct. 1966 are the same boat/sail number 22 as an example. I think this is a good time capsule date stamp showing the origin back to 1966 as opposed to the specs in thishttp://sailboatdata.com/viewrecord.asp?class_id=691 saying 1968 was the first year. Lots of conflicting information on the web about our boats but we do know they're great sturdy boats built in the '60's. I guess it's true what they say, 'if you remember the '60's you weren't there!'
