patching rudder back together

Routed out an area to overlay some heavy fiberglass matt onto the
rudder. Two layers to tie all the cut out piece back together. Also
found two wooden plugs??? in the keel where the holes for the gudgeon
bolts go through. Not sure why? Maybe the holes were drilled the wrong
size and the yard just put wood in them and drilled the smaller holes
for the bolts? In any case I filled the holes with epoxy resin and
fiberglass matt. The new holes will be in solid glass which will be a
lot stronger.

Maybe the holes reflect a previous gudgeon that had bolt holes in a different
area...
intriguing...
