BTW, you can use this setup for winterization too. Just pour PLUMBING only (!) antifreeze in the bilge, close through hull and run the engine for about 5-7 seconds (till you see pink water in exhaust)You can safely live some plumbing antifreeze in the bilge for the winter, it will keep your bilge water liquid.Bilge on I-29 very deep and narrow, if bilge water turns into a solid ice, it may cruck a keel.

Here is another question as I try and learn more about my boat:In the attached image you will see a silver cylinder with holes that is in the bottom of the bilge, it is connected via hose to a T valve right above the strainer from the raw water intake thru hull.I am not sure what it is and what it does.At first when I saw this hose near the raw water intake I thought it was for use in drawing in the antifreeze for winterization.....then I realized it was connected to that silver cylinder in the bilge.Thanks again for all of the information and recommendations.
