I've been kind of lazy this week and missed most of the conversation.

Steve, if you run Castle Falkenstein I will be your biggest fan.
Really. Ever.

If you prefer, I can put together something, too. I could bring out
Aerynth for some fantasy or something else entirely. I think I'm over
my GM burnout.

I hope you are't being sarcastic. Because I will do it!
Okay.. It sounds like two enthusiastic votes of Steam Punk Falkenstein, and a couple open to anything. So lets start thinking about characters.
Victorian (probably turn of the century 1899 or so) is when I would run it.
You can be from anywhere, but the genre best supports people with a somewhat high social class.
Don't worry about the rules (for now) just think of some character type you might like.

Hail, all,

Well, I'm playing Prince harry of Wales in a PBeM game
so I'll go for something different in this one.

How about some kind of Psychic Reasearcher?

Another option would be a Steam Engineer; that could
be cool....er, hot, actually.... ;)

What kind of options are available for the researcher?

cool. there was a series of victorian murder mysters set around 1899/1902 or so that were pretty cool. the main character was an american woman who ended up in England due to the death of a relative and she had inherited a house. she gets involved with a man who is very much into the "new science" of photography, crime scene photos and such. they end up getting married and into a whole slew of murder mysteries. she was a writer of mysteries but had to write under an assumed name.

some like that would be good. give you more of an idea of her skills as they come to me
