This is Petunia, female, stray, Mixed breed with some Pit, 30lbs, who loves everyone and is good with other dogs. She is submissive, even around other female dogs. Petunia acts like a puppy, we have her aged at 1yr. She is recovering from an injury to her neck. 

 

She was here for about 2 weeks playing with other dogs and going for walks with our volunteers when all of a sudden she cried out when the leash tightened and pulled on her neck. 

 

We took her to the vet on Nov. 13^th and she had a fracture to a vertebra. It is a non-displaced fracture and we will do her follow up x-ray about 12/11 to make sure it healed well.

 

However, meanwhile, she has been on cage rest and harness walks. Due to staffing and the amount of animals, she is not able to get much enrichment or time out of her kennel. 

 

She has been couped up and we can see she is restless and needs someone to pull her into a foster home. 

 

Due to kenneling without adequate enrichment, dogs start to mentally decline. If she does, we may not be able to hold her, so we are reaching out to see if you have any space for her.  

 

We are seeing her be more nervous when she sees someone new which is not how she was before. She needs to get out of here. 

If you can take this pet, be sure to send me an email by Monday night, 12-8-25, so I can make a note of it.
