Subject: Tarboro NC Sweet Foxy Dog Let Down Too Many Times... Needs Rescue
Good evening,
I am a volunteer sending this email on behalf of the Edgecombe County Animal Shelter in North Carolina.
Monica has already lost too much in her short life... She entered our shelter with the immediate promise of rescue by the end of the week. Come Friday, she was still sitting in her kennel. At the time, she at least had her sister to keep her company. Earlier this week, that all changed. Monica's sister, Rachel, became suddenly ill. It was later determined by our county veterinarian that she had a mass in her abdomen-- and her condition was worsening quickly. The hard decision was made to allow Rachel to cross the rainbow bridge at the vet's office-- surrounded by volunteers and staff to give love in her final moments. Monica now sits alone in her kennel-- likely wondering where her sibling has gone. Despite all her hardships, Monica remains to be the sweetest little dog at the shelter. We all have a special place in our hearts for this sweet foxy gal. She loves to chase a ball, but she especially loves getting attention from her people. We simply cannot understand how this girl is still sitting in the shelter! (If I didn't have a drama-king older dog at home, she would have joined my crew in an instant!!) She desperately needs to find her own person to show her love, kindness, and patience. She has been let down so many times already. She deserves to find the perfect home to make up for lost time.

During this assessment, Monica was not very interested in play. She had broken a nail during her previous play session, so she was simply not feeling it. However, she remained neutral and incredibly tolerant during the entirety of the test-- even with a "pushy" male dog!
Monica did wonderfully when meeting a female dog. The girls had an amazing play session! Monica is such a sweet, playful, and goofy gal! She is just so much fun! The girls had absolutely no issues!
The results of this assessment reflect behaviors exhibited at the shelter during the time of testing.
Feel free to reach out with any additional questions or concerns. Thank you,
