2. Banx (A571844) - 2 YO, M, brindle & white American Pit Bull Terrier, 77 lbs 
Banx is a certified fun guy with a playful personality and a heart full of love! Despite feeling a little under the weather, his tail never stopped wagging and his happy spirit continued to shine.
He went potty right away like the goodest boy and walks nicely on leash, making him an easy companion for walks, outings, and adventures. Banx loves toys and is happy to share them, showing off both his playful side and his sweet nature.
He already knows "sit" and happily accepts treats for a job well done. He even gave the agility course a try… then decided he had more important things to do!
Friendly, affectionate, and generous with sweet puppy kisses, Banx is looking for a family ready for fun, laughter, and a loyal best friend.
Gentle & Dainty playgroup participant: Banx is described as steerable, social, friendly, dominant, and tolerant. It was noted that he was sexually motivated during playgroup, but this behavior should improve following neuter. His playgroup video can be found in the comments below!
Banx deserves the chance to leave the shelter behind and start the happy life he's been waiting for. 
5. Davis* (A571750) - 2 YO, M, brown & white American Pit Bull Terrier, 57 lbs 
Davis is the perfect balance of adventure and snuggles! This handsome brown-and-white boy arrived at the shelter as a stray on June 30, and he’s been showing everyone what a wonderful companion he can be.  
What Davis already knows:  Sit — mastered! Leash walking — this guy walks like a dream; Potty outside — goes right away, no fuss; Treat motivated — making training and bonding a breeze
Davis is a friendly, happy boy who wears his heart on his sleeve. He loves cuddles and pets — lean into him and you’ll get a gentle nudge asking for more. 
Whether you’re looking for a hiking buddy to explore with or a couch companion to relax beside, Davis is ready for both adventure mode and cozy mode! Davis participated in an urgent playgroup where he can be seen greeting Banx with a wagging tail! Desarae is the total package in one petite, beautiful girl. Her stunning red coat and golden-brown eyes may catch your attention first, but it’s her sweet, easygoing personality that will win your heart.
She appears to be housebroken, keeping a clean kennel and taking care of business as soon as she got outside. She has wonderful manners, happily sitting for treats and taking them with the gentlest mouth.
She’s a dream to walk—easy on leash and the perfect companion for neighborhood strolls or leisurely sniffaris. Desarae loves to play! She had a blast chasing tennis balls and tossing around a stuffed alligator. While she’s still perfecting the “give” part of fetch, she clearly knows how to have fun. One of the best things about Deserae is her ability to settle. After a few minutes of play, she calmly walked to the gate to let us know she was ready to head back. She has a wonderful off-switch and doesn’t need endless exercise to be happy. If you’re looking for a dog who’s playful without being overwhelming, polite, affectionate, and easy to live with, Desarae could be your perfect match. Please share Desarae far and wide. Her family may simply not know she’s waiting. 
7. Harley* [S] (A566982) -  4 YO, spayed F, black & white American Pit Bull Terrier mix, 37 lbs

Harley recently traded her kennel for a Doggy Day Out adventure, and this sweet girl was the perfect little road trip companion! She visited the National Arboretum and a local pet store, proving that she’s ready to enjoy life outside the shelter. Harley is a natural adventure buddy! She rode like a pro in the car, enjoyed a peaceful stroll through the gardens (even in the rain!), and took her time exploring all the amazing smells along the way.
Harley already knows "sit" and is more than happy to show off for a tasty treat! She walks nicely in a harness and has an easygoing, laid-back vibe that makes her perfect for someone looking for a relaxed companion.
During her outing, Harley wasn’t bothered by passing dogs or kids zooming by on scooters. She happily soaked up attention from the pet store manager, earning lots of pets and giving a few sweet kisses in return.  
Harley has met another shelter dog, Shimmer, and did well! She can be a little forward when meeting new canine friends but was patient through lots of sniffs. At the pet store, when another dog got too close to her face, Harley politely let them know she prefers a little more personal space. Because of this, Harley would do best with slow, thoughtful introductions to any resident dogs.

Meet Palmer — a busy, handsome boy ready for his forever home!  Palmer came to the shelter as a stray, and he’s ready to trade the streets for a forever home filled with love, adventure, and a family to call his own.
This handsome guy is all personality! Palmer is excitable and enthusiastic — he’ll jump up to say hello and happily shower you with kisses. Don’t let that first burst of energy fool you though! Once he gets outside and burns off some energy, he settles down and shows his sweet, affectionate side. Palmer went potty right away (and several times after!), so this smart boy knows the routine and is ready to keep building good habits. Toys didn’t catch his interest, and treats aren’t really his thing either. Palmer is simply too busy taking in the world around him! A little mouthiness may pop up, likely from excitement, and he’ll benefit from continued guidance and structure.Palmer met another pup named Prescott during his dog test and did well, even offering kisses! With proper introductions, he may enjoy having a canine companion.
Playgroup notes: Gentle & Dainty playgroup: semi steerable, sexually motivated, and social. Third playgroup: steerable, semi engaged, and curious.

Meet Pumba — the smol boy with a big heart!  Pumba is a happy, friendly boy who’s ready to steal a spot on your couch and become your partner in all of life’s adventures! This curious guy is full of love and just wants to be close to his people while exploring the world around him. Pumba passed both his food test and doggy test and recently joined a doggy playgroup where he greeted all the dogs like the friendly guy that he is! He would likely do best with a dog who matches his playful, social style. He knows "sit" and loves treats (he gets a little excited about them!). Pumba went potty outside right away, so he’s already off to a great start. He’s not super interested in toys, but he is definitely interested in affection! This sweet boy gave kisses and wants to be close to you while still enjoying the chance to explore and satisfy his curiosity.

14. Thomas* (A571743) - 3 YO, M, tan & white Pit Bull Terrier, 44 lbs 
Meet Thomas — a good boy looking for his happy ending! Thomas is on a journey, and he’s looking for a family to help him get to his happy, healthy weight. This handsome boy came to the shelter underweight, so right now his world pretty much revolves around food. Thomas already knows "sit" (especially when treats are involved!) and passed his food test with ease. He is extremely food motivated, which makes training and building a bond with him a breeze. Thomas also did well meeting two male dogs. He went potty right away, so he’s off to a great start with house training. Once Thomas is back to a healthy weight and feeling his best, we believe his full personality will have the chance to blossom even more. This sweet boy just needs a little patience, plenty of yummy snacks, and a cozy place to call home.

"We want to be transparent that our shelter is currently at full capacity, and we are reaching out for help from the community to find placement for these dogs by the close of business on Tuesday, August 11th. We are looking for adopters, fosters, or assistance from our rescue partners.
Unfortunately, if these dogs do not leave by August 11th, they are at risk of euthanasia. Your support can make a difference."
