Subject: Previously severely matted little pup still in need!- Baltimore, MD
- Rescue Needed -
At intake
Current
Vanilla Extract- 5yo, male, 12lbs
Meet Vanilla Extract, a sensitive boy who is truly struggling in the shelter environment and still hasn’t been able to settle in. Vanilla came to BARCS on 12/1 with another dog as strays.
This poor pup is overwhelmed by the noise and constant activity at BARCS, and he can become defensive with touch by snapping, or often flailing or trying to flee when approached. While Vanilla will allow very brief pets along his back, it’s clear he’s uncomfortable and unsure.
He is scheduled to be shaved and neutered tomorrow so we can finally remove the painful mats covering the rest of his body, something we hope will bring him much needed relief and comfort. But what Vanilla Extract needs most right now is a quiet, patient rescue that can give him the calm space he deserves to decompress and show his true, more relaxed self.
Vanilla Extract does well with other dogs, just preferring gentle/dainty friends!
Please let us know if your organization can help!
Thank you,
The BARCS Rescue Team
