Good afternoon everyone,

We are reaching out with a rescue-only plea for Mia and Blackie, a bonded pair of Huskies who recently entered our care following an unfortunate incident involving a cat. In the interest of full transparency, they will need placement in a home without cats or small animals, as they appear to have a higher prey drive typical of this breed.

That said, we want to emphasize that Mia and Blackie have been social, gentle, and responsive with staff since arriving. They have allowed routine handling, leashing, feeding, and interaction without any concerning behaviors toward people. They continue to seek connection, lean in for affection, and show the potential to thrive with structure and breed-experienced support.

These two would truly benefit from a rescue partner who understands Husky behavior and can provide them with decompression, routine, and an environment suitable for their needs. We believe they deserve a fair chance outside the shelter, where their intelligence and sensitivity can be guided in the right direction.

They will require:
• Rescue-only placement
• A home with no cats or small animals
• Breed-experienced foster or rescue support
• Time, consistency, and decompression

If you can assist or would like more information, please reach out to the ASD Rescue Team at your earliest convenience. Even sharing this plea helps us get one step closer to a safe outcome for this pair.
