Firm commitments with pickup dates are urgently needed to prevent euthanasia (it's not euth, it's being killed -jsj). 

We have many dogs whose times are EXPIRED. They face the very gut-wrenching but unfortunately real risk of euthanasia (being killed -jsj)

Breed/Type: Lab mix 

Age: ~4 years 

Sex: Male, Unneutered 

Weight: 72 lbs. 

Heartworm Status: Negative 

Dog-friendly? Yes, currently kenneled with Boomer!  

Notes/What We Know: Carowinds is a sweet boy who was found as a stray and is now looking for a fresh start.

He walks well on a leash, listens nicely, and already knows how to sit. 

With his good manners and gentle personality, he’s sure to make a wonderful companion for a lucky family. 

 

URGENT: We are currently over capacity, and  we are losing 18 kennels due to renovations. As an open-admission shelter, we cannot stop the intake of stray animals. All animals who have passed their hold times are at immediate risk once their hold time is up. Firm commitments with pickup dates are urgently needed to prevent euthanasia 

 

Lexington County Services in Lexington, South Carolina is in need of assistance placing these dogs with a rescue! These are available to a 501c3 rescue only.  We do exhaust every resource possible but unfortunately due to overcrowding dogs do become at risk of being euthanized. We can provide additional photos, video, vaccines, heartworm tests, health certificates, RABIES VACCINES or any behavioral assessments that may be needed

The phone number is 803-465-5726. We respond to rescue inquiries Monday through Friday 8am-5pm(EST) and it is checked regularly. We offer free transportation Monday through Friday during business hours locally which would be the area of Lexington County, City of Columbia, or Richland County. Our staff is very passionate about getting all of these wonderful dogs to safety and will help in any way possible!

 

When inquiring about a dog, an animal ID number is required and not just their name.
