Subject: NO INTEREST🚨 Rescue or Sanctuary Placement Needed for 3 Feral Dogs (Jacksonville, NC)🚨 2/5 UPDATE: STILL NO INTEREST — URGENT 🚨
Two of the pups were able to try foster homes, and here’s what we’ve learned:
• Snowman & Millie both rely heavily on a confident emotional support dog. They came from a pack, and it shows — they are extremely shy when alone but more comfortable with another dog.
• Millie is still in foster and has made tremendous progress. She’s opening up beautifully in a home environment.
• Snowman returned to the shelter and struggled without a companion dog. He hid under the bed the entire weekend when alone. He needs a foster with another dog to help him feel safe.
• Our black & white boy still has no foster and is shutting down more each day in the shelter.
These dogs are very sweet, have shown NO aggression whatsoever, and simply need the right environment to decompress. They are not thriving in the shelter and will soon be approaching a deadline.
🙏 PLEASE SHARE.
A foster or rescue with experience, patience, and ideally another dog could change everything for them.COMMITMENT NEEDED BY: 2/6We are seeking rescue or sanctuary placement for three feral dogs who have had little to no meaningful human socialization and will require experienced, patient handling in a quiet, controlled environment. Background:
Snowman and Millie were born into a feral pack living outdoors in a backyard with approximately 12 dogs. Human interaction was extremely limited and consisted only of the property owner providing basic care from a distance.Sterling has been living on the run for over a year and a half. Multiple trapping efforts were made during that time. His only exposure to humans has been food tossed from afar. His dog-to-dog tolerance is currently unknown. In the kennel environment, all three dogs are frozen in fear, often remaining motionless when approached. They respond to touch with tensing and trembling. No aggression has been observed toward people or staff at this time. These dogs are not socialized, not leash trained, and not suitable for the general public or traditional adoption settings at this time. They will require a rescue with feral-dog experience, secure containment, and an understanding that any progress—if any—will be slow, gradual, and entirely on the dogs’ terms.🐕 Dog Details
