Mac Alternative for The Guide

I recently switched over to a Mac and I really must say that what I
miss the most is The Guide. I have briefly tried at least a dozen Mac
alternatives, from GTD software to simple one-pane outliners, but none
of them comes even close in simplicity and functionality. I would be
grateful for tips and suggestions, preferrably free and open source of
course, but in the end I wouldn't mind paying a bit for it. So, dear
Guide users, what would you use on a Mac?
