Dear teacher,

We take great pleasure in announcing you that British Council is organising “Scoala pentru democratie” summer school, in collaboration with Pro Democratia Association, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and Expert Forum.

“Scoala pentru democratie” aims at students between 18 and 26 years old, who want to learn more about active citizenship.

Under the guidance of trainers who will use exclusively non-formal education methods, students will learn how to become an active citizen, an opinion leader that influences the development of their community, able to challenge public authorities to solve the existing problems, all in favour of the citizens. Students will also receive the necessary support to design a project that aims to solve a problem in their community.

The summer school takes place at Eden Hotel, in Predeal, during 24th-28th of June 2013. All costs are covered by the organisers, except for 50% of the transport cost, which is paid by the participants.

The deadline for registrations is Wednesday, June 5.  In order to participate to the summer school, students need to send a CV together with a project proposal in which they describe an issue they would like to solve in their community (city, school, college etc.) to alina.cons...@britishcouncil.ro.

The proposal should have no more than one page and it must include: the issue itself, how it can be solved through a project, the purpose of the project, the activities that would take place during the project, the estimated budget of the project and who the team members would be.

A number of maximum 30 participants will be selected and they will be announced by June, 7.

For further details, please contact Alina Constantinescu at alina.cons...@britishcouncil.ro.
